When the racial struggle story starts getting churned out you know Ward is getting ready for a fight. Try growing up in the ghetto's of Russia and see how tough it is there. Finally Ward has stepped up to the plate and decided give the fans of boxing what it has been waiting for. Good that he has done the right thing though he had little choice.
Kovalev is coming for blood this time. This one will tell the tale...doubt there will be another. I thought Kov won the first one and still do. Yes, it can go any way as any fight can. However, I do think Kov will not let it go to the scorecards this time. Kov by KO....by round 8.
This is a silly statement. They are both grounded boxers and understand what they need to do...It will be a close fight again...horribly boring... Ward knows he has to close distance and not box Kovalev from a distance..Very ugly lots of clinching and rough inside work. You can't just try to go to war against Ward...He will hold your ass. Kovalev is a smart boxer...he hasn't got the rough balls to the wall aggression that someone like Maidana can employ which may be a potential tactic which I doubt Kovalev will take. Yet again he will try to dominate on the outside.
As David Haye would say ''Bet all of your bank account and put it on Andre Ward, for a win''. In fact all of the Andre Wad fanboys, if you are all are so confident, then collectively put your welfare money together and put it on Andre Ward. As if you really believe ''SOG'' is going to beat up Kovalev, you can all win together and be happy. But deep down in all of your tiny little minds, you know your boy is getting completely and utterly drilled to the canvas, pretty fast. And just remember to look after your boy when and if he does return to Oakland in one piece, because he's going to need all of your help, so be there for your boy after he gets completely and utterly smashed to pieces by the Krusher.
This is a silly statement? Oh.....ok. Kov is a really mean guy when angry. He is angry. Yes, they are both professionals and think in the ring. However, of the two Kovalev is the one that has shown this side of himself. Not a good thing to do. To discount an opponents emotional energy is ok if you don't think it can come into play. It can and does come into play.
What about the VADA testing, Conte and Ward successfully stalled the fight so VADA can't get the full 4 months of testing. Not a good look on team Ward
Absolutely I am even more hyped this time. Consider the controversy of the decision and the bad feeling between the 2 (& their respective fans) and the rematch is bigger & badder and I cannot wait. Will Ward silence the critics and cement his legacy as an all time great or will Kovalev take back the belts and with them justice/redemption proving himself the true king of 175? Huge fight.
