Everything is boxing. What Wlad is doing is pure fighting. Wrestling is part of fighting. If he can overpower you in clinches then he is a better fighter than you in that specific segment.

When Wlad was faced with a skilled guy his own size he got completely embarrassed because he had been beating everybody by illegal means using his size.
He made guys carry his entire body weight on their backs as a way to take away their legs.

Ward knew he had to take away Kovalevs strength and power so attacked the body like any real pure boxer would.
Wlad won't and is totally unable to attack the body. He has zero skills on the inside. He's a rubbish fighter. Pure garbage who deserves about 6 losses on his record.

I'm not going to go through the whole fight to show you them. The referee himself who was there in the ring with both fighters, counted 5 ''accidental headbutts'' which were coming from Ward. How do you ''accidentally'' headbutt someone 5 times? Or are you going to tell me the referee only started watching boxing a year before he officiated the fight?

You couldn't care less about elbows because you are a Ward apologist who cannot come up with an excuse for the blatant thuggery. If you ever boxed in your life, you'd realise they don't train you how to throw elbows. If that is your thing then you need to watch MMA.

Elbows has never been apart of boxing clown, that is why you get deducted points if the referee sees it and is neutral. If you are going to use that argument you may as well try and justify headbutts, low blows, peds and putting rocks in gloves, which happens just as often. I really hate the body language argument, they just fought there toughest fight to date for basically 40 mins. Fans act like a mother****er can't be exhausted

Idk man, this fight is intriguing. Kovalev can hurt Ward, he did several times in the first fight. Nothing too serious but still, if he can capitalize on it then he can totally win.

 

Why fight to your opponents' strengths? This is what I don't understand about some fans, criticizing fighters for fighting a particular way to win (in general, not just "Ward's style"). In fighting, wrestling, rough housing, etc has been taught in boxing since the beginning. If your opponent is beating you on the outside, don't fight him on the outside. Simple.

You call it cowardly but it's really just trying to win anyway you can. He doesn't have the power to match Kovalev blow for blow, so make it ugly.

 

I favor Ward too. I Just feel like he's the smarter boxer, the weaker one but smarter. People hate on his infighting but you can't really hit someone when they're smothering you.
