How much credit do you give someone for losing 10 rounds? Plus he got paid like 15 million against the best fighter of the generation who was not known for his power at 147 let alone 154. Canelo gets as much credit for fighting Floyd as does Guerrero

2 very good opponents in Lara and Trout.
Mayweather was the #1 P4P, and Cotto had just obliterated Sergio Martinez and Daniel Geale, one of GGGs finer wins.

I think you're underrating, and yes some people can overrste as well.

Liam Smith, Khan, Kirkland and Chavez Jr were chosen when there were so many quality opponents at 154 and 160. Where there's smoke there's fire!

Oh and Cotto beat a very faded Martinez, the one that Murray got robbed of the W in Argentina

It doesn't matter how much you dissect Canelo's resume. Its still one of the most solid ones today and he just entered his prime in 2015.

Canelo is a pure hype job. Been saying it since before the Mayweather fight. He's a cash cow who's hardly fought anyone who had a chance to beat him outside of Mayweather, Lara and Trout. You can argue he lost one of the bouts with the last two guys mentioned.

Canelo isn't a hype job at all. So what, if he lost to Floyd, and conceivably lost to Lara, or Trout, that doesn't make him a hype job, That Just Means He Was In With Equally good boxers. He's beaten other good fighters as well. I'm one of the biggest Fernando Vargas fans on this site, and I guess you're a fan of him as well given your user name and all, but did you think Vargas was a hype job when he conceivably lost to Winky Wright, or Losses to Trinidad, DE La Hoya, and Mosley? Was El Feroz a hype job?

Vargas' career path was much different than Canelo's. Let's not even go there. You'll lose that argument to anyone.

Who has Canelo beat? Hatton? Past his prime and undersized Cotto? Smith?

Canelo has a long way to go in my book to get my respect. Fighting GGG and winning would be a start.

Yes or no, was Vargas a hype job for conceivably losing to Winky Wright?
