mikey was how old when that fight went off? 25?

loma was how old when he fought martinez? 27-28?

LOL....spend less time worrying about how many pro fights they had and look at the age...

im not going to get into an argument about pros vs ams....but realistically mikey fighting early in his career is like taking light fights to get seasoned at the pro ranks...it was lomas choice to stay where he was...its no different than loma taking amatuer fights at age 24

The age is not a factor only 2 or 3 years age difference.
what im trying to point out is loma fought much much tougher fights early in his pro career then mikey and by a big distance.
Loma level of competition with only 10 odd in fights in is better then anyone I can remember and he should be applauded for it.

You honestly think any other fighter would of the balls to fight for a world title in his second fight? how many pro fights before mayweather fought for a world title for example?

Achievement wise, Loma has way to go before comparison can be made with Mayweather who dominates his peers on 5 different weigh classes.

Style wise, Loma is more offensive minded, he dominates with angle and footwork to set up his arsenals of punches. Mayweather befuddles his opponents with quick counter and slick defense.
Both are comparable in terms of skill. They are both superb technicians. One thing I have Loma above Mayweather is attitude in boxing, he is in it for greatness.

Sosa is not good just being honest. This thread is way too premature. Loma is the truth but he still has alot of work to do. Let him face Garcia first before we start the levels stuff. He still has plenty of time to get better against elite opposition.

Both are amazing , but Mayweather is untouchable at this Moment , to say Lomachenko is on
another level , is a bit far fetched.
He could be better one day , but he has still a lot to do.

Forget the Loma vs Floyd comparison, Loma's son is a better boxer than any version of Floyd and Baby Loma is still a couple of years away from being able to read Stage 3 children's books like Pip at the Zoo and A Cat in a Tree. Obviously so is Floyd but at least Baby Loma has got the excuse he's still only a bambino whereas Floyd is a grown man of 40 years of age.

    Loma is 29

    Floyd was 20

This is a pointless argument .....

IF Mayweather's first pro fight was salido he would have been run over and knocked out. Lomachenko actually won that fight.

Prime 130 or 135 mayweather gets the Gary Russel treatment vs Loma

Lomachenko had a way longer amateur career than mayweather , he won 2 Gold medals and fought the best
amateurs on the planet , he had 397 amateur fights , Mayweather only had 92.
Mayweather was 19 years old in his first pro fight , Lomachenko was 25.
He fought Salido in his second fight , not in his first.
Mayweather was already a two-weight world champion by the time he was 25.
    Make your conclusion.

Make no assumptions. Amateur boxing and pro boxing is like flag football vs real football. You can see the skills in flag football....but no guarantee it translates to the real deal.

Three rounds, two minutes in length, huge padded gloves, head gear. Totally different scoring rules that makes it like watching fencing. Age means nothing in this regard. Young Floyd gets rolled over.

Flag football are you kidding me? More like College vs Pros your still getting tackled just by more physically mature athletes. Plenty of examples of athletes coming right out of college and dominating in the Pros.

That's the real difference between Amateur boxing and Pro... the years of experience and the physical maturity of the boxers. Boxing me at 16 was real different from boxing me at 19.
