Hearn has announced Luke Campbell vs Darleys Perez for the AJ/Klitschko undercard.

    http://www.matchroomboxing.com/news/campbell-faces-perez-in-wba-eliminator-at-wembley/

Its also an eliminator for the WBA. Which is obviously held by Jorge Linares. This is a great step up for Luke to see where he actually sits in the world rankings, not a bad fight at all.

Dont get me wrong, this card still needs 1 or 2 more decent competitive fights. But this is an okay start.

    Thoughts chaps?

Perez is probably the right fighter Campbell should be looking at now.

BUT...he hasn't fought since November 2015 and seemingly has 3 weeks notice, which is pretty awful.

It's an alright addition to the card assuming Perez has had earlier notice

Under normal circumstances I would say decent. At such a late stage though you have to wonder what condition Perez is in.

Ok this is actually a good fight, the best fight of the undercard by far.

Good fight but how in God's name have this and the other fights been left so late to be arranged/announced. Makes no sense.

    WBA?

So they went WBC route, make a big deal of the WBC Silver title, all that "green belt" rubbish and then Mikey Garcia wins the WBC title and they change direction.

I think that's a complete disgrace and embarrassing, that's what you call a bottle job.

About the best we could've hoped for at this late stage. Not a bad fight. Have to hope that Perez comes in in at least semi-decent condition. Not sold on Campbell.

I give Campbell virtually no chance vs Garcia, even less chance vs Loma when he moves up. He'd be a big underdog vs Linares too. So that leaves...Flanagan?

Doesn't look good for Campbell and his title aspirations.

    Not at bad fight,

    Perez last fight:
2016-11-19 : Maurice Hooker 139 lbs drew with Darleys Perez 137½ lbs by SD in round 10 of 10

so there's a chance he might be in decent condition

Perez-Hooker was an outrageous robbery as well. Had Perez winning that fight 8-2.

    I agree.

I just hope they stop all that over the top hype they pour on Campbell on Sky Sports and I hope Hearn stops it too, yes he won an Olympic Gold Medal but so did Audley Harrison, they know he isn't good enough to carry Garcia's spit bucket yet they continually sell him like he is the second coming of Sugar Ray Robinson.

And let's not forget Campbell might look 16 but the man is nearly 30 years old.

Fact is, any Campbell fans come on here giving large again I'm going to remind them every time that Campbell's backside dropped out as soon as Garcia won the WBC title.

And before anybody jumps on me, I do understand they are trying to sell a fighter, I do understand he has to be promoted but they are misinforming young fans and new fans about his real ability and insulting the intelligence of genuine boxing fans.

It's OK saying "WORLD CLASS..." every time he throws a little combination but just be honest, Campbell is good, maybe even very good but he isn't world class and we all know it, he isn't and won't be a genuine top level fighter.

Wow Hearn really pulled it out of the bag with this one! At this late notice I was expecting an Afrobum or Hungarian
