Yeah Calzaghe gets no credit from me for fighting shot Roy, and I think Calzaghe beat Hopkins 7-5, plus the KD equates to a 1 point win over Hopkins in my book. It was definitely a fight worthy of a rematch.
LoL .. They were solid techinical fighters that had a lot more going for them than just volume. haha@ Malignaggi being a master boxer. You saw what Floyd did to high volume swarming Hatton. Ward would achieve the same thing against Calzaghe. Kessler was a good all around boxer with solid fundamentals and he gave Calzaghe hell. Ward dismantled Kesslers one sided.
no one is reaching here.....ward uses many of hopkins tactics....but ward also aint 40-50 years old....so he doesnt need to resort to it to last 12 rounds....many here do classify ward as a "spoiler" though.....is he an 8-10 on a 1-10 scale? no....but hes still seen by many as a spoiler i love how ward doesnt hold today...im sure tomorrow in another thread youll tell us how all ward does is hold
fighters absolute prime is around about 27-28. take your pick from arguably losing to robin reid, decisioning rick thornberry, actually facing crippled retiring woodhall, awful veit or unknown noone will mcintyre. which one is evidence joe mutliates ward again? none of them. oh... apart from will mcintyre. ward at 27-28? easily froch, dawson whom gibbering joseph ran in terror from...both. then add bika and abraham, why not?. throw in, as wards first title fight, a mauling of joes best win and last title fight kessler for good measure. yep.
yeah if the boxer has no idea how to negate pressure.....wards not some novice lol what happened to margarito and his pressure the 2nd time around against cotto? what happened when he fought shane? he got punched in the mouth and tied up .....if cotto fought smarter, or with less pride, in the first one there wouldnt have even been a 2nd one
Dude I stopped reading at your little "absolute prime is around about 27-28." That stupid post of yours doesn't even warrant a proper response
Where did I say he never holds? You do realise that you seem to be going out of your way denigrate Ward as a fighter? Then again you're a dummy so you probably don't. ..
The more I see of ward the more im convinced he would beat calzaghe. He's literally the text book nemesis of calzaghes style. Awkward, adaptable, super strong, spoiler, unflappable If I were to choose someone to beat calzaghe it would be ward . That's pains me to say it as a proud welsh man who has seen countless calzaghe fights live and met him loads of times
And guys like Arguello, Ali, Leonard, Barrera had no idea how to negate pressure? So what gives why do pressure fighters always seem to trip up the master boxers?
LOL...now you are trying to change the subject and deflect from what you said ...no suprise..its what golovkinites do you simply said that ward isnt a spoiler and then called him a spoiler in the same thread minutes later....someone said what hopkins was able to do proves he couldnt beat ward...as if that guy meant that ward was a carbon copy of hopkins...when in fact he suggested that if ward used a bit of hopkins style/tactics and some of his own and just fought the way ward fights he would beat joe....but thats too much for your feeble mind to digest
how would you describe kovalevs style? im curious? calculated pressure? you are going to find several examples of pressure guys beating boxers and vice versa....
