When talking about the selection of judges for Ward-Kovalev II, Kathy Duva, the head of Main Events (which represents Kovalev) stated:

"We're in business, Nevada was the right place for the fight. It is the place where we'll do the most money on that weekend. That's the weekend we were given and all good business sense told us to go to Nevada. Their rules are that the commission selects the officials."

For this event, while a co-promotion, Roc Nation Sports is the lead promoter given that Ward was the victor in the initial match-up.

According to Duva, they wanted to make a request with the Nevada State Athletic Commission - "We wanted to go to them and ask for neutral officials, that's something I asked for, but Andre Ward would have none of that,'' stated Duva, who explained that by 'neutral', any judge not from the United States or Russia.

I hope this is not true because I respect Andre Ward and I think he's a good guy. If he really didnt want neutral judges It'll completely change my idea about who Andre Ward is as person.

"Let the commission do their jobs"

Sounds like the fighters had no say in judge selection. And shouldn't, ever.

You must not know Andre Ward then.
Look up his fight with Kessler officials controversy, the fight was almost off.

Yea but do you think the commission should hire 3 american judges again. How is that fair after the controversy of the first fight? And now Duva says she wants neutrals.

Also, do you think the commission from Nevada cant be bought ?

I don't know, who says they're going to be American? All Ward denied was Duva's selection or filtering of judges. We don't know who they're picking and nothing indicates Ward does either.

I think the commission should consider their request. But I do think eliminate all American judges in this event is a bit extreme. The fight is in USA and most fighters fight in America generally had a fair shake. It doesn't matter what nationality are the judges as the promoters are the ones paying them.

What a shocker. I hope Kovalev wins by a KO. I finally have a boxer I am beginning to hate, and I don't even hate Broner.

smh at people acting like Kovalev was robbed the first time around. If Kovalev had of punched more, and initiated clinches and wrestling less in the first fight. He would have won.
