But in a way I'm not surprised cuz Ward was playing games since day one of the negotiations of this rematch.
First he delayed as much as possible the rematch, he didnt want it 6 months after November. Main Events said they would've preferred this fight to take place now....in April, so they can squeeze as many fights as they can for Kovalev this year . But Duva said that the contract stipulates " no later than June". And no later than June it was.

She didnt lie about that did she?

I guess Ward isn't the "G" you thought, makes Kovalev even less of a G by that logic.

If Kovalev can't get "neutral" judges without Ward's consent, then Ward can't get all American judges without Kovalev's consent. The commission selects.

You've been played. Ward doesn't want the fighters to have any say in who the judges are. Not the same as not wanting neutral judges.

I hope you're right. Just think we need some clarification from NSAC and/or RocNation

Well considering the first fight was very inconclusive and a request has been made for neutral judges (and denied) I don't think this is really an excuse.

How come ? What do you mean?
Kova fought with 3 american judges the first time, and he's saying it wont go the distance this time, so what arr you talking about ?
Its his promoter that wants no controversy if this goes to the scorecards again, wich will be probably be the case

If they get a Mexican, a Canadian and a Japanese ( just examples) judge and they are utterly biased towards Andre the outcry will still be there, dont get me wrong, but it will nothing compared to what will be if all three are American again. So why not avoid this ?

And Andre was complaining that he didnt get enough credit for the win, I was thinking he wouldnt mind the obvious incoming demand of Main Events of neutral judges.

Lets hope that the comission in Nevada can still get foreign judges without a request, but I dont know man

Man the fighters dont have any say in who the judges will be ? Do you think that if one promoter demands neutral judges, that means they pick them ?
No, its still the commission, and they can be wrong again, even worse than the first time, but at least it wont be that controversial as it woulb be with 3 americans

The default option of the Nevada commission is to pick 3 American judges. It'd be foolish of Roc to want anything but the status quo. Anybody would want to take the "let the commission do its job" approach if it gives you a built in advantage.

Duva doesn't want to pick the judges, just eliminate the American ones from the judging pool. It's worth noting, also, that there was never going to be a Russian judge. Duva making that "concession" has as much practical impact as me promising not to run people over with the Batmobile once I win the lottery.
