No One is Invincible! The Mayweather Jr. vs Spadafora FULL SPARRING Session

Favorite sparring stories:

-Spadafora best win in boxing history sparring Floyd
-Holmes beating up Ali
-Amir Khan KO'ing Pacquiao and dropping Andre Ward
-Ivan Calderon dominating Oscar and Mosley start to finish
-Carlos Monzon KO'ing Joe Frazier
-Roberto Duran KO'ing a literal horse

 

Tyson, wlad klitschko, leanard, even ali have taken L's in sparring. No elite fighter would spar if they would just effortlessly crush their opponent in 30 seconds, that wouldnt prepare them for a fight. This footage doesnt really prove anything.

Factors:

-Few fighters are out for blood and giving it their all even when they have a fight coming up. You dont want to risk an injury. Its not like the old days, they only have wars on occasion when they are in peak condition and ready to test things out.

-one of the fighters might already BE injured. Iirc, holmes had busted ribs and had to spar with frazier of all people.

-there is no money on the line usually. Hence the guy with the bigger name isnt going to have incentive to try and look impressive and daze the crowd.

-like others said, sparring is about working on TECHNIQUE and making sure youre in good condition, trying things out, style matchups, etc. Its not rock em sock robots.

-another thing, sometimes two guys either know each other well and jist want a good workout or they value that person as a sparring partner due to factors (he has a good jab, footwork, good inside game, throws a good uppercut, etc) and so obviously they dont want to humiliate or injure a guy and then their trainer gets mad and never brings them there again. Its happened dozens of times.

Here we go again. This is sparring dummy. People like you are so desperate for PBF to lose that you actually get your panties wet over a sparring video. It's hilarious actually. Once again you continue to expose yourself to your lack of knowledge of the sport and actually ever being in a actual boxing gym. Sparring is just practice dummy not an actual boxing match. Quit trying to use a sparring video as a reason why Spadafora would have beaten PBF. It's a desperate reach at best.

 

Khan is an absolute stylistic nightmare for Ward though. I know there's weight difference but I wouldn't be surprised if Khan landed some quick combo and got a flash knockdown before Ward could figure him out.

Paul delivered your boy and whipped and beat him like a dog. If it was close I can understand, but Floyd got absolutely destroyed. It would have played out the same way in a real fight.

This isnt some average sparring partner we're talking about, Spadafora had a formidable record of his own, educate yourself on the beatings he routinely dished out on his unfortunate victims. Floyd would have been another to add to his list.

There is no denying that Paul was a piece of trash. I've never argued otherwise. You are barking up the wrong tree to trying to score cheap points with that point and once again make yourself look like the fool that you are.

This thread has't touched on his behaviour which I do not condone. It's been about the sparring session which I'm entitled to have an opinion on.

If you have a problem with Pauls antics outside of the ring, feel free to create a topic covering it. The difference is you will not see me in there making excuses and glorifying his thuggery.

 

Haven't heard the Monzon/Frazier one in some odd years. Good job there.

When are people going to realise sparring is not a fight. It's sparring .

Some guys can't get up for sparring either

Or like me who was perfectly equipt to spar anyone fully relaxed but couldn't settle nerves for a fight and fluffed it.

Sparring is so far removed from fighting it's not even worth mentioning. No pressure being the main thing
