Joshua put up someone throwing a tennis ball at him this the other week... he made it look easy but i bet they spent hours getting the timing down

AS others have said Haye didn't need so much weight works, he probably needed more work on his timing and flexibility - he's an old guy for a top line fighter and with injuries taking their toll and weight work alone won't help..

He's done for me, he couldn't even land his power shots on Tony who's not exactly hard to hit...

If he had really worked at it post Wlad, he could have had big money fights with arreola etc but he's left it too long now and his body can't do it

And he really is that deluded to think that he can spend his time on yachts in miami living it up with z listers .

People like mayweather were proper gym rats always in the gym

Haye just too arrogant and lazy. Laughing at bellew as he was living the life spit and sawdust

Cheesy as it sounds but fmw 'hard work, dedication ' moniker is essential in boxing

Haye is done very gifted athlete that lost his way

Excellent post this. There was so much emphasis on how aesthetically good Haye looked in that buildup that actual boxing ability was overlooked. He didn't think beyond how good he'd look on the scales.

Imo there's a lot of similarities with Anthony Joshua in that they go in there, patiently waiting for the devastating knockout. I believe it comes to a point where they neglect their boxing skills in breaking down an opponent. There are fighters who don't have that ability to KO an opponent and they tend to make up for it in skills and we can all think of examples of that.

Bellew isn't a huge puncher so he's an example of a fighter who's developed his skills which mostly helped him to avoid getting into Haye's range. Joshua hasn't fought an opponent like that but I believe he will on April 29th.

When he struggles to work himself into range to KO Klitschko, he's going to get reckless and careless. I'd really like to see him win but he's like Luke Skywalker in Empire Strikes Back, he's got a lot to learn.

^I actually think Wlad is going to beat Joshua tbh. More I've thought about it I think he'll stay out of range and hold when Joshua does close the distance. The key for Joshua if he's going to win is his handspeed but remember how well Wlad dealt with Haye's handspeed? I think Fury's style was just way too much to deal with for Wlad given Fury's size. Joshua's footwork is no where near the level of Fury's.

Couple of very good posts. Agree its a bit like hayes more concerned with how he looks as opposed to how he can fight. Hes got one foot in each camp. How he looks has become a bit of an obsession to him imo. Like hes believes the better his body looks the more ready he is.

Agree about joshua. Hes obviously a specimen. Guy aboves mentioned he does a lot of drills etc thats not necessarily weight lifting. Working on reflex,s etc which is good. But when it comes down to it hes a pretty predictable boxer. Even against molina...before the k/o came he started looking predictable. Its just that hes so big/strong/powerful he ll get the k/o against guys that arent nearly as serious as him with the training. It might be enough for him to go on and dominate. But when he gets past 30 i think is when it,ll tell on him. Reflex,s do start to slow down. Wont be that much stronger than the younger guys coming through who,ll probably be taking a leaf out of his training. And does his body stand up to these sessions at that stage....thats when he,ll need to rely more on his boxing. If hes spent it doing all these different drills. We,ll see how good it is. Although its hard to criticise him atm. Hes done pretty much everything asked of him.

To beat joshua your gonna need to be a bit of a specimen yourself. But a guy like that thats been concentrating solely on good boxing training...should be able to stand him on his head. Just looks to me like the trainers nowadays have lost their way a bit with the boxing training. Its always the same stuff over and over again. Wheres the cus d,mato type guys went nowadays. Its a bit like the sports science is taking over and their getting some success with it..people claiming its all down to the sport science. My belief is that its supersceding the boxing training...because the boxing trainings no good nowadays as opposed to the sport science being this big success. Dont get me wrong theres a place for it in the sport. I m not anti sport science. But the stuff there doings your just ending up with...stronger guys with little real skill a lot of the time.

Just to add i ve no idea about who,s gonna win klitchko v joshua. Hardest one to call as far back as i can remember. Gun to the head...klitchko. Agree with the above about the footwork. But no result would be that surprising.

I think u have to catch Fury sweet for the KO, otherwise more often than not with his confidence, size and style he makes better boxers think to much imo and the rounds pass with him stripping them of their confidence
