This referee Joe Cooper should have being banned for life . Joe
how did you get your license ? Hadn't you seen Benn vs McCellan ?
No winners of this fight. Prichard Conlon you have wonderful parents
and Terrell Willams hasn't fought after this fight. Two careers shattered.

This is terrible, truly heart-breaking. It's easy for people to trash on boxing sitting on the sidelines. Boxing, while at times it can be portrayed as a beautiful sweet science with victorious and happy measures, there is a darker, deeper sinister side that most don't see.

As sad a story as I've seen in the sport....I can't believe that, for all the safety precautions available in this day and age, boxing is still making mistakes like this with fighter's lives. Tragic all around.

More guilty parties who deserved to be named and shamed. The Doctor
who was ringside at this fight why didn't you take action after 7th round
when Conlon was complaining of dizzness and pain in the back of the head ?
How in the 21st century boxing can this be allowed to happen ?
I know tragedy is part of boxing but this could have been prevented !!

Rabbit punches should be treated far worse than low blows. It has no place in boxing.

I watched his second last fight live in Toronto. I distinctly remember thinking that his guy had it all a promising career as a professional athlete, charisma and youth.

Sad to see all that promise and potential unfulfilled and a life ruined.

This. Low blows are painful. Rabbit punches can kill or maim.

@TinFoilHat - Please delete that post, every time a thread goes down that route it attracts the worst elements of this forum. I don't snitch on other posters but someone may report you and mods could ban your account.

As for the OP, very sad. The people who throw the word "coward" around this place to describe a boxer they dislike should remember the risk involved.

Just awful to read that story. Boxing is no game. You don't "play" it.

Michael Watson sued the British Boxing Board for negligence and won damages of 1.1 m.
Joey Gamache won a case against NY Commission for fight against Gatti and even though
no damages was paid it was a long ( 8yrs ) and costly court case.
So obviously the CYA wanted a verdict clearing all parties of negligence.
