Dave Allen vs Ian Lewison looks to be off

    Dave Allen will now fight for the vacant Commonwealth title on the Brook vs Spence undercard instead of the originally planned Allen vs Lewison British title eliminator.

    A shame really as I was looking forward to that scrap, but interested to hear who the opponent will be.

    I originally thought Jason Gavern but as he's American he would not be able to fight for the Commonwealth title.

    Any ideas?

    Hopefully not Gavern, that would be a step back really.

    Gavern v Allen is the first David Allen fight I saw and it was more like a wrestling match

    Well like I said, it can't be Gavern because he's not from the Commonwealth.

    As if it's going to be Jason Gavern, Allen was quite clearly joking about that on twitter cause their fight was so bad. I'm guessing it's that Dillon Carman from Canada

    Sherman Williams would be the other main candidate but I doubt Hearn would fancy putting Allen in with him at this stage given his experience at fringe world level.
