POLL: Was Kovalev vs. Ward a robbery?

No. Not a robbery.

 

Robbery is a strong word I would say hometown decision. On neutral ground you gotta expect the decision to go Kovalev's way.

 

To me,the second half was evenly fought. Neither had any obvious anything except a dominate kovalev for 6 straight rounds

That's how I saw it, even giving ALL the evenly fought rounds to ward you'd have a fight that could go either way.
I don't score where every round has to be 10/9, if it's close I like even rounds. Kovalev is clearly the superior fighter, boxer, boxer/puncher. Any way you look kovalev is a couple levels above ward

 

Most deluded scorecard I've seen for this fight by far. Rd 9 was easily Ward's best round in the fight, and he got the better of the action n rd 5 too.

I'm not the biggest Ward fan out there, but that fight wasn't a robbery. It wasn't even a bad decision. Kovalev should have done more boxing, instead of wrestling, and initiating clinches. Kovalev needs to rewatch the Golovkin vs Jacobs fight, and see how Golovkin won rounds with his jab. Kovalev and his longer reach, should have been doing the same thing. Let the jab set up the right hand, and the power. Why try to show that you can outmuscle, and outwrestle Ward to the point, where you are doing most of the wrestling, instead of punching. He can only blame himself for not winning. And the people crying robbery are mostly racists. These same morons were the main ones laughing when Kovalev was being racist on social media in the past. The fight was close. Kovalev didn't get the nod. Get over it.

 

Five even rounds in a 12 round fight tells me you're not looking hard enough to separate them. Are you just waiting until the end of the round to decide or are you keeping an active tally of quality blows landed?

"Any way you look at it?" No, because plenty had Ward winning. If Kovalev were "a couple of levels" above Ward he would have clearly dominated him and stopped him.

 

I thought it could go eitherway but prob should have been a draw. Kov lost the fight more so then ward won it. Kov stopped using his damn jab. Hope he sticks to it more and doesn't throw the rematch away.
