Had Bowe won vs Holyfield in their 2nd fight, he should have defended his title vs official challenger Michael Moorer (34-0, 30 KOs).

What do you think about this fight?

I believe Bowe was all wrong for Moorer. Michael was a very skilled boxer, but had tendency to brawl in his fights (Alex Stewart, Bert Cooper, Botha etc) and hadn't good chin to be a brawler.

I think Bowe would've stopped Moorer in 7 rounds or less.

Moorer had a great jab when he wanted too. If Hide could outbox Bowe with speed
and combinations early in their fight then so could Moorer. However like Hide found
once Bowe started finding his range there is no escape.
Bowe by ko in 8 rds.

moorer had a heavy jab man and was a southpaw....and bowe never ever threw a straight right hand right down the pipe and thats what u need against a southpaw ....tuff fight in 94 ...moorer a bit chinny...but being a southpaw could really fargggg bowe up .....i would take bowe if i was to bet $$$ but wouldnt be surprised if moorer won via dec

Hide had more power than Moorer. I agree with OP, Bowes all wrong for Moorer, ko could happen in 4 or less, and he wouldnt have to go life and death with him during that time, unlike with Hide.

I think it's an excellent matchup for Bowe.

Bowe would be the bigger, stronger man in this one. Moorer was a brave guy but bowe would smash him to the canvas repeatedly. Bowe wins by 7 round tko

Bowe never went any 'life n death ' with Hide. He was running away from Bowe so much it was ridiculous and Bowe was still able to bounce him up and down off the canvas like a yo-yo.
    You never saw the fight.

Moorer definitely tried to tone down his natural brawling tendencies where he instinctively tries to fire back hard after been caught, after the early heavyweight wars against Cooper and Stewart and he was surprisingly quite a good boxer when he put his mind to it. It's not important to envisage Moorer outboxing Bowe and landing the decisions but it far more likely that at some point, they will be involved in some heavy exchanges that the bigger, more powerful Bowe will violently and excitedly get the better off.

Totally agree with the consensus...Bowe stops Moorer 7-9th rounds.

It would have been a good one.

IF, and you have to say IF Bowe was in shape and focused, he should win.

I'd give Moorer a good shot to win though. Bowl was open to the right and jab, two punches Moorer threw well with speed and power.

Like most fights you bloviate about, YOU clearly never saw the fight. Hide had him on ***** street SEVERAL times.

By the way, I love your tagline. It's right up there with Ellerbes for the most innacurate tagline of any poster on this forum.

You do realize what a fanboy is, right? Someone who irrationally holds their favorites out above critical examination, uses anecdote over reason, and apply one standard to one group and a different standard to another group. You PERSONIFY that definition.

Answer me this, do you think there is any fighter who ever lived who, at their best, would have had a good chance at beating Ali at his best? If so, who? Because there's not a fighter out there who I, or most of the posters you rage against the most, wouldn't say is vulnerable to defeat from someone. Think about that, and come up with some inane lie how that doesn't tear down the entire premise of your tagline.

Nope , you never saw the fight or haven't seen enough fights to understand what a life and death situation is.

Never once was he staggering on bambi legs , never mind 'several times' . He was briefly stunned on an inside exchange nothing more. Its boxing. Fighters get hit.

Hide ran away in fear and got floored about 10 times on route to his stoppage loss. The guys at the end of these beatings are the ones who are going life and death , not the guys who are administering said life n death beatings. You linearly have the fight completely reversed in your head.

Did Mayweather go life and death with Mosley because he was buzzed and held on for dear life in the second round?
You probably never saw that fight either. You should really refrain from commenting on things you know nothing about.

Great job ignoring my main question, moron. No, you've shown your ignorance once again, Bowe was hurt SEVERAL times, and it's just your own famous rose colored glasses that won't allow you to see it. From the guy who says Williamson was about to ko Wlad lol!

Bad matchup for Moorer. Bowe is likely to get Moorer out of there quickly. No way Moorer could handle legit shots from Bowe.

You said Bowe went 'life and death ' .

It was a dominating performance from Bowe. Its like saying Froch went life and death with Dirrel cos he cought him once with a good punch in the midst of running away for his life.
Unlike Froch , Bowe tracked Hide down and floored him repeatedly before stopping him.

Did Douglas go life and death with Tyson cos he was dropped heavily and barely made the count off a savage uppercut? In your mind Douglas went life and death in that fight . In reality he dominated Tyson just like Bowe dominated and battered Herbie Hide.
