Honestly: Why did Fury never get the respect and credit for beating Klitschko?

I see a blocked member has posted above. I do wonder which idiot it is but if I were a betting man would back ESB's latest resident donut pow to be embarrassing himself further with another stupid post sure to be full of crap.

Whatever his personal faults, I think he still gets respect among boxing fans.

It's too bad he self-destructed. But given his well-documented history with depression, alot of people were predicting he would (self-destruct) before the fact...

Way back in 2011 Dwyer noted that betting on Fury was risky because of his obvious mental issues. He revisits this in 2016 (after he had abandoned his former position and picked Fury to upset Klitschko).

I'll be honest, I think it was because of his gypsy background. The actual boxing fans gave him credit, but the media just ignored it. It was hardly in the press. You got to remember, the casual boxing fans far outweight hardcore boxing fans, and it's the media that hypes up the fighters for the casual fans to take an interest, and the media were just poor in how they handle a Fury win. Disgusting really.

He is an exceptional boxer, with amazing speed and footwork, incomparable to any other heavyweight I can think of his size and build. I called him to beat Klitschko and was cast as an idiot by my casual boxing fan friends, but for anyone who know's anything about boxing can see this guy is awkward, tricky, can box from obscure angles and strong on the inside. His performances against Hammer and Chisora should have served as a warning. He might not be the most exciting or pretty of boxers to watch, but he gets the job done and I think can adapt to pretty much anything that's put in front of him.

He carried himself as a fat oaf and a buffoon after winning the title. And going into the rematches, proved to be a cowardly drug abuser and a ducker. No one is gonna give respect to that.

He barely outpointed a shot to **** Wlad in one of the worst HW title fights in boxing history. Fury only threw about 20 punches/rd landing at a 20% clip. Not much of a coming out party.

I see where you are coming from, but he has never claimed to be an athlete of any kind and has repeatedly said he is only in boxing for the money. If you don't respect his actions at least respect his honesty! He never claimed to be a role model for anyone, he's just a tall fat guy who likes to fight, and happens to be pretty good at it. He has admitted he hates every second of training and going into camp so I imagine getting him motivated after he had beat the HW king was pretty much impossible.

Its the fashion in which he beat Klitschko being it not being an entertaining fight and Klitschko not looking good or determined. In my opinion Fury had a lot to do with that and I gave the man his dues I think when on top of his game hes a very tough guy for anyone to fight or beat.

He thought that we gave a damn about his opinions because he won the title. Nobody cares how much coke he did. Nobody cares what he thinks about some guy being a "cigarette". Nobody wants to hear an internationally-famous multi-millionaire talking about how much of a victim they think they are. He should have kept his mouth shut and let his record do the talking.

Fury is a disgrace to himself and boxing tbh. Very much doubt he will ever fight again or at the level he showed in 2015. Nobody will care or remember who he is come 2020.
