Tony Yoka, who fairly won the World Amateur Championship at super heavyweight, but needed some biased judges to get past Hrgovic to win Olympic gold medal at super heavyweight has turned professional.!

His first fight is June 2nd. No opponent has been selected yet.

If you haven't seen Yoka before he's a very mobile big man, about 6'7" tall with speed and skills. There is no doubt he was perfect for amateur boxing, however, some question his ability to take a punch, and willingness to mix it when the going gets rough.

Filip Hrgović is going pro. He's in Wlad camp right now for sparring! Hrgovic is on the right of the photo.

Also Ivan Dychko has signed to go pro.

    And so has Joyce.

Each of the four made the semi finals.

    Excellent news for heavyweight boxing!

Yes, but that was only the announcement. Yoka's first scheduled fight is June 2nd, 2017!

I checked its now on BOX REC.

Boxing is lucky all four semi finalists from the RIO Olympics have announced their intention to go pro. The division is a mess.

    http://www.ringtv.com/ratings/?weightclass=272

    Klitschko is old ( 41 )
Fury, fat and mentally unstable. I think he's done.
Wilder won't fight anyone in the top ten as champion. He's belt milking fraud.
Pulev ranked #3 by Ring Magazine isn't championship material, but he could be one with this group
Ortiz is old, and no one wants to fight him. His career is going south.
Joshua is promising, but what happens if/when Wlad beats him this April?
Parker is a legit top ten guy, but who's going to fight him?
    A. Ruiz is lucky to be in the top ten.
Boxers like Whyte, Breazeale, and Miller should not be in the top ten!

    A mess!

Enter Yoka, Hrgovic, Dychko, and Joyce. A breath of fresh air.

I don't remember when was the last time that the four medalists turned pro at any division or Olympics.
IMO the top 4 super heavies from Rio would beat almost anyone at the top 10.

Hrgovic has some very impressive traits. Yes he's big, can box and can punch. But he's also an a tough minded fighter, with an A plus chin who does not mind mixing it. Fans should like him.

Robbed in Rio ( He beat Yoka 2-1 on any fair score card ) , I think he's the best bet to be a future champion of the bunch.

I thought Hrgovic beat Yoka via a narrow decision in their last meeting.
