the four times statement came from Eddie himself in an interview, in not trying to slate Eddie at all, I just know that fight was all wrong for Ricky so surely he should have

Its a bit like whats the point of putting ricky in with these guys at this stage. Hes just gonna lose. 120-108. Kind of shows theres a massive gap in rickys ability and who there trying to put him in with. Surely hearn has a say in the opponents. Why keep sticking him in with guys like that when theres loads more out there a lot more suited.

Maybe a lesson to ricky...the grass isnt always greener on the other side.

it wasn't ring iq that got him his world titles, it was fitness, determination and grit. i am a ricky fan, i enjoyed your years working together but are you really trying to say someone that can't work out how to deal with a southpaw has great ring iq:thinking::thinking:

i agree that no super feather or lightweight would have beaten ricky in his pomp but i suppose that means he was best in britain :sisi1:sisi1 joking aside ricky was great champion, kept big shows in scotland but he was never elite and that is not a criticism but just that not much fighters are elite:thumbsup:

as i have pointed out in the past what you and ricky did was special, i don't think you will manage to replicate it with any other fighter tbh but can't you shoulder some of the blame when it comes to ricky struggling with southpaws? you coached him through the biggest part of his professional career and when he was in his prime so why didn't you work on this weakness that you know about and have since confirmed:thinking::thinking::thumbsup:

i like the fact that david would still have no hesitations if that opportunity were to arise again but as his coach and with hindsight would you at least try and talk him out of it ??

Burns v Crawford and Burns v Indongo surely go down as two of the lamest **** poor title defences - all he done was skip around the ring in both fights , threw next to nothing in terms of punches and worst of all never had a go in any minute of both fights.

Prior to the fight he said 'Unification Fights are what I have worked all my life for and cannot wait to get in there on Sat'

He then produces that pile of turd in the ring - more like he just wanted the fans money.

I think thats right I watched Burns against Indongo and listened to him before the fight saying "I did better than I expected in sparring against southpaws" as though he was surprised, he moved in the right direction in the early part of the fight but just went back to same old, you can't teach an old dog new tricks, I rekon Hearn has taken him as far as he can because Ricky is jaded now, if he wants to box he'll need to fight the up and coming guys now, still he can make a few quid.
