I saw an interview where Toney claimed Sam Peter was the hardest hitter he had faced but obviously that hardly diminishes Sosa's reputation any, plus James sounds a bit punchy these days (no wonder).

I will definitely watch this on youtube later. 160/168 was no joke back in those days:scared1.

Pretty good power but Stiverne did take all his shots. Still guys like Tyson, Foreman, etc., didn't knock everyone out.

That is because people he punches are grotesquely out of shape. Your ability to take a punch is corelated with your conditioning and reflexes - most people he fought had both at a level unacceptable in a pro fight.

Wilder hits very hard, I'll give him that. His power is the only thing keeping him above the level of the Szpilkas and Washingtons of the division.

No simply NO ...... the only genuine contender he fought took him the distance, it's easy to look like Ivan Drago when you're fighting cans.

He may look like a Heavyweight version of Johnny Bumphus but he hits as hard as a prime Shavers did.

Joshua of British stoppage/TKO fame? Nah, maybe his average punch is harder but Wilder got that freak power to end a fight with a single shot.
