Because he fought in a different era with the likes of Martinez, Williams etc. GGG made the mistake of going to Germany. He has wasted his best time actually, which is very sad. Would he have gone earlier to the US, we could see him fight against these men and Pirog.

The best thing the Klitschkos have done was leaving Universum.

You disagree? Show me clips of where GGG punched with Jacobs. He just covered up.

I figured that Golovkin would box Jacobs out of respect for Jacobs power. It's a bad idea to pressure a very hard puncher like Jacobs. But I also thought that GGG would eventually hurt Jacobs with a power shot, but that never really happened. I think it's combination of Golovkin getting older and being now slightly past it and Golovkin just didn't turn in one of his better performances.

Golovkin has now fought 2 huge punchers in his career. In Lemiuex and Jacobs. He jabbed, boxed, slipped and blocked to beat those guys. We now know that Golovkin has no interest in trading with a fellow huge puncher. He only wants to trade when he has the big power advantage. This is smart of him, but I think to beat Pavlik GGG would have to open up more of offense or he would drop too many rounds.

pavlik was very underrated to the point of being laughed at by steward and taylor prior to the first fight. he steadily became overrated due mainly to his marketability. He was, and is, a terrible drunk. There used to be some people from his camp who posted on here and confirmed. It didnt start when he got famous he always was. He fought Martinez two weeks after getting out of rehab. he was a very good fighter and a total waste of talent at the same time.

i was one of his biggest fans on here back then. kind of a shame what happened. crazy how both he and taylor are total tire fires

Would have been a great fight while it lasted but I feel that the punches that Taylor dropped Pavlik with in the first fight would have a more accumaltive effect coming from Golovkin. Whereas Golovkin takes Pavlik's punches better if he lands(Golovkins defence is much better).

I'd say he'd beat all the MW's today. Golovin is close but I'd favor Pavlik.

I had Taylor winning the rematch. 8-4 or 7-5. I think that Pavlik vs Golovkin is a good fight. I think vs Jacobs is a good fight as well. If Taylor is hurting Pavlik, what would Jacobs do.

Pavlik GGG is a 50-50 fight. GGG would have to respect his power. Pavlik can take a punch and can punch with the best of them.
A prime Taylor was similar to Jacobs but was much more confidence with his offence. Pavlik handle the heat just fine.
Pavlik has problem with slick fighters with movement, GGG is a come to get you type. It will be a barn burner. It's a pity they don't come in the same era.

I've always thought both Martinez and Pavlik could beat Golovkin, Kelly was a beast, and had the reach, jab and style to trouble GGG, and Maravilla's southpaw stance, movement, slickness and heart would give all GGG could handle.

I might have to kick you out of my Golovkin fan club for saying such blasphemous words.

The Ghost would have been a tough fight for Triple G.

I know there's a minor clash going on here between a few revisionist historians and those who solely try to "live in the moment" (for whatever reason/s). But from an unbiased perspective, this would be a brutal affair based on styles as well as on paper.

I'm not so sure that Triple G would be able to impose himself on KP the way he's been able to against most of his opponents up to this point. He'd have to show something new in there.

This fight could go either way.

Can't see him beating Golovkin and Jacobs might give him a tough fight too.
Key might be the superior footwork of Golovkin here also remember how easily Sergio countered Pavlik in the later rounds he figured out he just has to throw a 3 punch combination to land . Golovkin might also be able to time and counter the Jab of Pavlik.
