Kovalev's Rematch Promo Material

I haven't seen it posted here and believe it's been removed from his Twitter. The promo is basically a text convo between he and Ward talking ****, but Ward is afraid to say what he really wants to say and keeps deleting his text before sending generic responses. It was a little controversial because it was riddled with the N word (from fictional Ward, not fictional Kovalev).

Do you find it inappropriate? I personally do not find it inappropriate but not entertaining either.

PS if this didn't actually come from Kovalev or his camp, my apologies.

 

It is legit from Kovalev's twitter (indeed he's deleted it now), although I'm guessing he wasn't the one who filmed it personally.

I like Kovalev, but I don't like this promo at all. It's not funny, and uses far too much bad/offensive language for my taste.

 

It's playing on the assumption that the Ward we see and hear in public is not the Ward witnessed off-camera and away from a mic. The offensive language is used to exaggerate that point to make the joke work. I thought it was quite funny but probably best he deleted it... lol

 

He should talk as much as he can, cuz he's leaving the ring horizontally!!!

 

I'm all for trash talk and promo but Kovalev's is just terrible, like when he said 'Adonis Chickenson' my 3 year old cousin could've come up with that it was cringe worthy

 

Figured I'd share this since Ward and that Prince fella are taking a lot of heat, yet nobody bats an eye when Kovalev releases a video with the N bomb dropped 20 times.

Double standards

 

I actually laughed. Ward's fictional responses before deletion were pretty epic. While I do consider majority of hood Americans practically illiterate, I do have a soft spot for that kind of talk because it genuenly makes me laugh. Americans need to stop fetishing the word *****. It has long outlived people that were it's actual victims and it this point it could just as well be another collection of funny sounding letters.

 

Funny how it is so easy to laugh at someone else's expense. I wonder would you be so open-minded if the "humor" was directed at Russians.

 

Not necessarily "hood Americans" but uneducated people in general, from anywhere.

 

I know you are a smart dude. Can't you see that calling it an "N word or Nbomb " is not meant to favor or protect you in any way? It's just a tool for certain social groups to further seed the divide in your society. The people most "offended" by it aren't even black themselves - it has become an extortion tool. You're letting unscrupulous lowlives get rich off your ancestor 's misery.

 

I would. I love russian drunk jokes, and laugh at my own expense all the time. Race is a tool of division, I am smart enough to see that.

 

Are you also smart enough to see that "nationality" is also a tool of division? It appears not.

 

I found it funny but it's not a good look coming from Kovalev.

 

I think you might be confusing me wit someone else. I don't hold any misconceptions about Russians. Our politicians are corrupt scum, our foreign policies are divisive and downright criminal, and the regime as a whole is rotten to the core. In my mind, I separate people by their mentality and their character. I always root for russian speakers because we all share a special bond, have gone through the same grinder, so to speak. I have a Cuban friend that was born in St Petersburg and lived in cuba and we couldn't be more similar - even though we look nothing alike.

 

Nice thread but don't expect it to generate much traffic but if it was the other way around it would.
