Did Joe Louis also beat Sharkey with a low blow?

The blow was low not on the b*lls but still technically a low blow. Sharkey on Schmeling that was on the b*lls

Schmeling took a vicious low blow from Joe Louis, I believe in the round before or the round where he stopped Louis.

Louis said it was an accident.

I'm always suspicious of fighters who foul when they are on their way out or in some trouble.

 

I'll have to rewatch that fight. Louis always seemed like a very clean fighter to me. If he did do it, he may have just panicked or survival instinct took over he was in a terribly brutal fight, probably the first time he was under such extreme adversity.

 

Louis was a squeeky clean fighter he was out of it when he hit Schmeling low,after being told about it by Blackburn, he sent him to Max's dressing room to apologise to Schmeling.Baer hit Louis after the bell and after Joe had dropped his hands,Louis just looked at him with contempt and walked to his corner.

Louis also fouled Schmeling in the re-match with a kidney shot. Yeah, Max turned around and that was his fault, but to suggest Louis was above taking advantage of the situation is silly.

While Louis did apologize for the low blow in the first fight, the timing of it stinks, as he was on the way out and needed a break.

 

No, I rate Louis at number 4, behind Jack Dempsey a white heavyweight,a group whom you say I am biased against! Louis did not foul Schmeling, Schmeling was on the ropes and turned away from the action thereby causing the foul himself,similar to your current hero Wlad, when he turned away from Sam Peter. Louis was a clean fighter . But he is a criminal to you, his crime ? He was BLACK!
