Getting back to the topic, I can sort of see the point of the OP, i.e. if you think size and power are huge factors, than you should be less likely to back either Ali or Usyk at HW, and vice versa. Hence there should in theory be some statistical correlation between those who back Ali against today's HWs and those who think Usyk might have a good chance against the transitional HW scene of today, if you surveyed enough fans.

That's sound logic. But it comes with obvious and huge caveats:

First, and most obviously, Usyk, much as I like him, has not done anything to even be considered in the same breath as a true legend of the sport like Muhammad Ali. And there is therefore a very reasonable and consistent position which backs Ali against elite SHWs because he's a once-in-a-generation talent, but feels that Usyk is not close to the same level of skills and thus can't be backed against the same.

Secondly, the comparison is also different. We are comparing Ali to ATG HWs such as Lewis, the Klitschko's, Tyson, etc. However we are comparing Usyk to unproven (as far as being ATG / HOF level) fighters, not to elite ATG SHWs. IMHO the argument for Usyk at HW is largely due to the lack of an elite dominant HW champion like the names above.

Andrew, honestly I like you as a poster. It's fun to bustballs with you, you don't take **** too seriously and go nuts, but you're just contributing to the race war by making threads like this. Both sides can be irrational, and unfair. You know better than this. I'm disappointed in you.

Do you think Usyk could have gone the distance, let alone beat someone like a prime Foreman?

No, I'd be very surprised if he went the distance.

Lol, a prime Foreman would have literally killed Usyk. Let's be honest.

Usyk would need to get on his bike and have a chin of absolute titanium to have even a chance of going the distance. Prime Foreman was an absolute beast.

But I do reckon prime Foreman beats today's HWs too!!!

If we interpret "literally killed" as "knocked out", I agree 100%. Foreman didn't actually kill anyone literally, but I guess that was just a figure of speech ...

What fight suggests 70's foreman defeats all fighters today?

I text from my phone so you could maybe understand if they use those in Peru. I'm also sure horse is still the main source of transportation there correct? Or is it llama. You'd be surprised to know I'm very skilled at horse riding btw. My grandfather is a cattle rancher. Got some country in me. You're country by default.

You really love to troll, don't you? This thread has nothing to do with either fighter, posting stuff like that just makes you look silly ... especially after I was agreeing with you.

I thought Americans rode Buffalos and used Horses for transportations. I live in the city, I have a ranch in my name in the outskirts of Lima. Thanks to my parents. I am not country by any means.

Let's not get into this, it'll be a new version of the Ali vs Joshua thread.

If Joshua goes on to become the dominant HW champion, I'll be willing to admit in retrospect that I could well have been wrong. If he shows how good he is against Klitschko that might be worth reconsideration too.

But I can't pick a relatively unproven fighter against an top, reasonably large/powerful ATG like Ali or Foreman yet.

The only way you can do so is eye test, and while I trust the eye test a lot, it's not enough against a top ATG like Ali or Foreman.
