Who cares what happened in the Olympics.... this is the pros.

If/When Nevin fights quality comp... we'll talk about it.. but the Am's have **** to do with what happens in the pros.

Rate Valdez highly. Looking forward to his fight tonight. Also, OP does not know what 'behooves' means.

Was very satisfied with the fight. Marriaga is tough and very skilled and tested Valdez loads. Valdez never panicked and adjusted to get the win.

You talking about Nevin? He would have lost a pro match.

I'm inclined to agree with this lol. John Joe Nevin is just a top fighter and undefeated in WSB something like 8-0 against top opposition, but I haven't seen him in a while...he's probably shot...not just literally lol.

Bogo, it would be good to read a slightly longer take of the fight. Valdez was too eager to stay in punching range, just relying on moving his head at times - that needs to be worked on. He can't be rolling shots with his head like that, as often either lol. I watched it on a poor link just a couple of hours ago, I don't even know what landed cleanly heh.

Well it looks my man got some burn after the performance he put on last night. So whomever said he was limited can GTFOH. Valdez the future.

I was very happy with his ability to adapt. Also he has a chin, because Marriaga was landing some bombs. He needs to improve his catch and shoot if hes going to keep using the high guard. When he jabbed relentlessly, Marriaga had no answer.

It was definitely something I didn't like, but it also told me he was comfortable enough to do it and stay in the pocket to land the harder shots. He's always been much more defensively cautious, so I can forgive it once when he feels he can hut his opponent (and did so).

If you read the talk going up to the fight Valdez went out there to put on a show. Did he get a lil too much? Yea, but he was standing there trading, he wasn't trying to block or slip those shots. Now I don't agree w/ that line of thinking, but he won the fight and proved he has intangibles, besides being + in every other category. Valdez is soon to be a p4p talent IMO, and I really think he'd smoke GRJ right now. But I've been a fan since I saw him on HBO years ago, so I may be bias. What do you think of his p4p level Bogo? @Rumsfeld what about you breh? @Manfred and @DoubleJab666 I respect all your opinions, please drop em.

He's still on the come up despite being a titilist. But yeah I think he's got alot of potential to take over the division in a year or two. He still needs to work on some things, but so far so good.. I'd really like to see him fight Ronnie Rios next, I think that would be a good fight.

He's solid but but kind of basic, LSC beats him.
