Duco obviously super pi55ed off with the Furys and who could blame them: Cash up front if Fury wants re-scheduled title shot Boxer Joseph Parker's camp is demanding a large sum of cash before agreeing to re-schedule their WBO heavyweight title fight with Hughie Fury. Fury has withdrawn from the fight citing a back injury. However David Higgins of Duco Promotions - Parker's management team - is skeptical of the injury. Higgins says the Fury camp has been difficult to deal with throughout negotiations around the fight. "Most boxing negotiaions are cordial and the camps get along....but there is proper discord in this one," said Higgins. "They have damaged the trust between the camps and the only way for them to fix that is to pay a big chunk of cash up front to a lawyer's trust fund account and then we will fight Hughie," said Higgins.
It pays to check on close sources like Taylor whos right in it. Breazeale leaving out some details it seems.
So who will it be? We know that Team Parker: - don't want to waste this training camp, so they are fighting on May 6 - want a tall fighter - must fight someone in the WBO top 15. WBO top 15 is: 1. Hughie Fury (cancelled) 2. Christian Hammer (not tall) 3. Jarrell Miller (not tall) 4. Andy Ruiz (not tall) 5. Kubrat Pulev (fighting Kevin Johnson) 6. Dominic Breazeale (tall, but wants the fight in September, not at short notice) 7. Dillian Whyte (fighting Wach) 8. Tom Schwarz (just had a fight) 9. Andriy Rudenko (Team Parker have considered him before, but he's not tall) 10. Luis Ortiz (injured) 11. Andrey Fedosov (not tall) 12. Agit Kabayel (same height as Parker. Also, would he be willing to risk his "0" at short notice?) 13. Kyotaro Fujimoto (not tall) 14. Razvan Cojanu (tall, ticks the right boxes. He's not that good though, but acceptable for a late replacement) 15. Zhilei Zhang (tall, but his promoters want him to be a huge star in China and definitely won't risk his "0" against Parker at short notice). My prediction is Cojanu therefore.
Based on your data it is only a choice two - Agit Kabayel or Razvan Cojanu. Perhaps Breazeale could agree to wearing platform boots? But it isn't September either is it?
Apparently Hughie Fury was rumoured to have been knocked out in recent sparring and needed to be carried out the ring. I heard this tonight on TV3 news in NZ.
Breazeale is very tall, taller than AJ even. I just think that Breazeale is in a good position, he can get a title shot by normal means, so he won't want this fight on short notice. Parker could fight him in September, but I expect he'll try to unify instead if possible. And if the WBO buy Team Fury's explanation, they might order Parker vs Hughie then as well.
Mate, I know it's short notice but if it ends up being Razvan Cojanu it could very well be the worst fight ever to be deemed a heavyweight title match. Cojanu record is 16-2, he's been knocked clean out by a guy who is now 12-3. Cojanu is currently rated # 78 in the world (boxrec), will the New Zealand public really buy a match like this. Breazeale states he wants the fight and is ready to sign a contract - All we have agaisnt this is Taylor Barry stating "he's full of ****". Is this just Barry's way of leading the NZ public into accepting a second rate fighter?
Taylor Barry is a reliable guy, the thing is Breazeale wants a September fight not the May 6 date. If he would accept May 6, or even a slight postponement May 13/20 or something, that would be ideal. Cojanu obviously does not deserve a shot in the slightest, but if he's the only option, it's hardly Parker's fault. More like Team Fury, for pulling out at the very last minute when apparently they've been injured for 3 weeks, and the WBO, for including Cojanu in their top 15.
Injured for 3 weeks? Why did they tweet this 10 days ago then?... This content is protected The whole Fury camp are complete con men & liars.
