I'm a big fan of HartmanStrikesBack. Some of you might be familiar with him on youtube. He did this videos some time back about Psychopathy is boxing. I found the video thought provoking. Very interesting video and I thought some of you boxing aficionados might find it enthralling like a did. want to share it with you guys.

Watch the video. Share you thoughts. What personality in boxing do you believe fits the label of a psychopath?

James Butler is a psychopath, no doubt. And judging by what I know about McClellan (killing animals and abusing overmatched sparring partners) I would say that he is a psychopath as well although I could be wrong.

I can pretty savely say that the majority of boxer are psychos.
All pro boxers i have met were mental kind of strange to a certain degree.
I mean it is matter of the sport. You make your earnings by putting pain on people and causing permanent brain damage that lead to death or a worse disability of your body and brain like gutknecht.
As far as i can tell kovalev seems to not mind that much that he killed somebody in the ring, at least his attisute outside and insede the ring does not suggest that. Stevenson also seems to be very strange dude with that pimp past. I even saw alot of recent interviews of wk and he came of as a very strange dude in some of these.
I mean they punch each other on the head.........

This diabolical wretched varmint then went on to later murder Max Kellerman's brother Sam Kellerman; who after letting that animal stay at his house to try and help him out when he was going through hard times, refused to leave the property when asked to do so. He then killed Sam striking him endlessly with a hammer to the face, before burning the house down an attempt to destroy the evidence.

Psychopathy is one thing, but you also have things like Narcissistic Personality Disorder. None of these are 'cool', people who have it that you've run into tend to be very annoying or have annoying traits in the real world, and they can't even process feelings like empathy, making them terribly frustrating/annoying to spend time with.
It's quite embarrassing that Narcissists are actually direct products/representations of their low self-esteem rather than this lofty character they portray. I see all the time people think they're stronger because they think they're probably narcs but it's the most embarrassing thing to be - you're simply led by not being mentally strong enough with regards to self-worth.

There are those types, and then there are insecure people with cult-following mindsets who admire those who are outspoken and display courage in areas they cannot (even if what the outspoken are doing is morally wrong), so they fall for the psychopathy in another person and even glamourise it as they're some sort of movie character.
    - They're equally annoying.

Essentially where there is an idiot talking and doing, there's always another idiot ready to support him.

Don King is a textbook psychopath.

Don King , Carlos Monzon , James Butler and Gerald McClellan definitely have or had some kind of
    psychopathic behaviour.

If you are going to mention everyone who seems to have a mental disorder bring up everyone that seem to not have one. I think that boxing brings out abit more mental illness in other sports since first of all it's a tough mans sport and showing emotions and opening up is looked a weakness more son then in any other sport.

Also the fact that boxers generally speaking are coming from troubles pasts doesn't help.

I agree with you , the most of them are tough guys but only a few have real mental issues and only about
1% of them are real psychopaths.

Some guys like Kovalev or Roberto Duran are tough guys but i wouldn't consider them as psychopaths or having mental issues.
