I'm not going to take the time to do an in depth analysis but I went ahead and selected the " 6-10 " option. Might have been a bit more or a bit less though. There were definitely some weaker linear champions that he could have taken.

My picks are in green, Poevtkin would beat them. He has good skills, good stamina, a top chin, would be bigger than most on the list, and good power. Not an easy out, and he's rather professional in terms of being focused leading up to the match.

The picks that are too close to call for me are in yellow.

So by my count, I'd favor him over 16 ( 17 if your count Foreman twice ) past lineal champions under the format and rules.

Agree but i think he beats Marciano for sure and maybe frazier just on size and strength, not sure if he would beat fury at his best fury is very tall and moves very well for his height

I don't think its beyond the realm of possibility that Michael Spinks might have outpointed Povetkin.

You have 2015 Fury losing to Povetkin?

A win over Frazier is possible as Povetkin was a bit like Quarry, except he hit harder, was more consistent, and didn't cut. Puls his ring IQ was mich higher. Quarry was a bit better on the counter. Bonevena nearly KO'd Frazier. Povetkin hits harder than him too.

This would be a good fight. Frazier has the edge on speed, Povetkin the edge on durability. Overall skills, maybe go to Povetkin, and Povetkin himself has a very dangerous left hook. For now, I'd favor Frazier on points.

I'm not sold on Fury. He beat Wlad, but when Wlad pressured him too late, he was winning. Povetkin is a pressure fighter, and I think would catch Fury.

He would beat some of the weaker lineal champions, but he would probably lose to all of the stronger ones.

I picked 11-15, and that's being pretty conservative.

He's at least as heavy as some of the "giants" of old and much, much more skilled.

Edit: Just looked up Jeffries, who was considered a specimen back then. Povetkin is both taller and heavier than him, is I humbly submit that his combination punching is on another level. He has 10lb on "giant" Jack Johnson too. The number he should be favoured over might be closer to 20 in retrospect.

    Mendoza's list is good.

Fury is too good for Povetkin. It would look like Holmes vs Shavers.

16-20 sounds about right through to tell the truth I'm not entirely convinced by Povetkin's abilities.

Btw. good job on all the nicknames. Tyson Fury is the only one that you missed out.I think he likes to call himself 'The Gypsy King'. The only two I didn't know on the list were Lennox Lewis (The Lion) and Michael Moorer (Double M).
