Because he's spent three months preparing to & people in this part of the world are looking forward to seeing him fight.

His best chance against Wilder is to come in as an active fighter. If he fights on 6 May, that's what he'll be doing.

Hope this isn't just a bunch of shittalk. Would love to be a fan of Deontay again, but he's gotta' start fighting the real competition. Parker would be a good way to start doing that, imo. Let's see it.

Still, if Parker picks a scrub for a walkover may 6, a late July fight wouldn't be too early. It's a winnable fight for both boxers, with HUGE potential rewards. So they both have an interest in getting it done. Parker might have to be the bigger man and agree to some unreasonable things, because I don't see Wilder making it easy, but so be it. Boxing needs less excuses and more great fights, and this would be a great fight.

Why would Parker pass up a unifaction fight to face a pasty instead?

If you don't understand the importance of staying active, you don't understand boxing.

And it may not be a patsy.

Is Washington or Wawryzk a pasty? You know the ones Wilder fought instead of taking up Joes unification offer...

Sound like you don't want him anywhere near Wilder.

Yeah, late July or early August could be fine too.

I hope this is for real, both Dan Rafael and the coach of Junior Fa said that they thought Wilder was serious about unifying later in the year, the plan was September apparently.

I guess we'll find out for certain this year or next year whether Wilder will have any intention of stepping up. If we get Chisora, Stiverne and/or other fringe contenders while Parker and AJ/Wlad fight each other, then Wilder cannot be defended any more. But if he fights Parker or AJ/Wlad this year, I'm ready to forgive him for his weak opposition thus far. After all, it wasn't completely his fault, he would've fought Povetkin if he had to.

Ask Deontay for it lol. Use google.

Look we know Wilder looked at ranked no.15 Wawryzk then he had no.10 or 12 Washington instead of unifying with Joe. So why Wilder was left to fight 'pastys' as you call them, Joe was trying to fight the next best available.

Happy for him to be in a ring with Wilder after he fights in NZ on 6 May.
