Difference is its not by choice,he's the man of the moment in the HW division as far as I'm concerned simply through the opposition he's faced the last year.

You also forgot to mention Povetkin's fight wasn't sanctioned and could choose whomever he wished....unlike the WBO stipulated Top 15 rule.

Ever heard of a non-title fight? Why pay a sanctioning fee for this fight? Easy 1st defense is the reason and Duco lines their pockets.

Ok I think I'll believe Stiverne and my common sense. No one goes to fight I dont know how many jetlag hours away and with the soreness of a long flight....on just a day notice. For a non title bout
    Its impossible.

They lined him up in time, without knowing what Stiverne reaction will be when he will hear about Pov's failed test. It was a possibility that Stiverne would still fight. The Russian did that when Stiverne was caught, remember, so it was a possibility. Just for the money.

But the decision to cancel the bout came very late. And I dont know why. When was the failed test ? Probably weeks before.

And in that time, the Russians we're informed and didnt want to cancel the card.

Which was good, cuz now we have Indongo on the scene. If I'm not mistaken he fought that night against Troya

They've got the tv contract tied up and the tickets sold. Why take a risky guy like a Miller, Ortiz, Fedesov from their BS top 15 list? My supposition is that they're paying the Cojani guy his worth: way less than the sanctioning fee. Duco quite happy Fury walked.

Holy **** are some people actually blaming Parker for this bout?! He's shown his ambition and willingness to fight the best. He has alot invested in this title defense, has ever right and reason to go forward with it, and it is not his fault that Hughie backed out and no one else among who top 15 is available. I get that its a shame such a bad boxer gets a title shot, but this is the one scenario that it's excusable.

Parker's team are putting this fight on. Are they going to refund those that do not wish to attend now? Or offer discounted prices? People paid to see Parker vs Fury. And whatever you think of Fury he is unbeaten, has name value of being Tyson's cousin and was the mandatory. If Duco want to put on this fight fine but they should refund everyone who sees it for what it is now.

Especially when Browne put his hand up. That could have been a non-title fight. It has the trans tazman rivalry and Browne is a former belt holder.

Wilder also suggested they flag the May 6th fight and work on a unification for July.

Team Parker are persisting with this glorified sparring session when other avenues were available.

El Genio is still mad that his man Ruiz got beat and is now living his days out at a taco bar.

Cool man. You're real cool man. I've got free tickets to this fight so I don't care either way but if Browne was available as a non-title shot or the unification with Wilder was on the cards for July then Duco is just doing a money grab. Don't you feel for those that paid big prices? Don't you think they should get a discount? Or a refund?

Sorry If I mistook you for another poster who was constantly bagging the Ruiz result. I didn't realise you were in NZ watching the fight. I can agree that those who paid for seating need some sort of option considering the Fury drawcard has walked. It's just a chit situation all round to be honest, and the fact that Duco have publicly said this is probably the last time in a long time Parker fights in NZ, it's a poor farewell.

Blame needs to be focused on the dealings with the Fury clan.

All good mate we are all fans. I just think if the Wilder fight was a possibility for July then that option should have been explored. If Browne was possible for a non-title fight then that also would have been better than Cojanu. I understand those that want Parker to stay active but a rest after all the hassle and 10 or so weeks of training can also be helpful. For the record I had both Ruiz and Takam fights as draws. That's boxing. I was talking with someone yesterday who had the Murray fight 119-108. I disagreed but at the end of the day there are more important things to worry about.

Can confirm Razvan Cojanu has already outdone Hughie Fury..

...he has arrived in New Zealand.
