Yes he ultimately lost the fight against Lewis but up to getting stopped he was giving lennox fits. Boxing well , throwing a underrated jab and getting in some meaty right s, Bruno was surprising a few people. So if this Bruno went in to challenge wlad how does it play out? Does it end with Bruno been stopped as he was against spoon, tyson and Lewis or could Bruno pull off a upset here? One thing Bruno has is a solid right hand so could that come in to play here against a wlad that was stopped by sanders.? I'm not batting for either man, just curious as to who gives Bruno a shot?
Bruno's jab is a problem for anyone if he utilizes it properly. Wlad hasn't got the intimidation factor either to scare frank. Hard fight for Wlad down too styles. Still give him the nod though, stopping an exhausted Bruno very late. Wouldn't be surprised if wlad is dropped a couple of times en route
I forgot to put in that this is the wlad from the haye fight, if it makes any difference to the two fighter s I'm not sure. But we know Bruno will fight a entirely different one to what haye did.
Wlad would do better than Lewis because he'd respect/fear Bruno more than Lewis did. Wlad would fight a tighter, more disciplined fight. Lewis let Bruno do too much because Lewis was a bit too arrogant and overconfident in having superior skills. It wouldn't be an easy fight but I think Wlad would establish jab dominance within 3 or 4 rounds and force Bruno into more desperate attacks, whereupon Bruno would simply eat more and more jabs and become slower afoot until he completely breaks down.
I give Bruno more than a good shot at this. He is a big puncher, with a fair armory and a world class jab. His punch output isn't too bad either and he liked to force the action - more than enough to disrupt Wlad. I think either man can end the fight with a punch. Bruno is capable of defending against the right hand but is susceptible to a left. I think Wlad would need to balance caution with getting in early - because he'll be forced to fight (this assumes that the 'No Hammock-Humping-Your-Opponent' rule is in force and that the referee is aware of this) and I actually think Wlad tires before Frank. It's 50/50.
Bruno was a very dirty fighter. Wlad holds and waits for the ref to break you where as Bruno curled his left glove round your neck and wouldn't stop punching fast and furious with his right till stopped. The only fight where I didn't blame Tyson coming back with elbows and forearms. Wlad to clever eventually for frank when the dust settles
Early wlad stops Bruno in 5/6 rounds on his feet. Steward wlad lets Bruno into the fight with his over cautiousness.. Good match up this Fergy. I think Vitali is another kettle of fish. Hes not a monster puncher like bro. Wouldn't like to see that one. He breaks frank up slowly and badly
Bruno's strong performance against Lewis was fuelled by anger and a intense animosity towards Lewis because Lewis had called him an Uncle Tom amongst other insulting descriptions in the fight build up. Even so I think Wladimir would still win if this was still a factor.
Legend X making some good posts here. I agree with this. Wlad would make it a battle of distance and the jab, and Bruno's jab < Wlad's jab. Frank's best bet would be to throw all his chips into an all-or-nothing attack and try to Sam Peter Wlad. He might be able to do it, but I'd favour Klitschko at something like 70/30.
Yep the vitali brother would be a hard nut to crack for Bruno no doubt. He would take some monster punches from Frank and still be standing imo. It would be a late rounds painful stoppage.
I could see it being like vitali v briggs but frank not lasting as long in the end. Looking better than Briggs while hes fresh though imo
