I have to say the more I've thought about it, the more I think Joshua's suspect mandible will NOT hold up, that Wlad WILL shatter that shaky chin at some point during the fight. Could be wrong, but something gives me a sense that there will be shards of AJs fragile chin flying around that ring later today.
I think AJ has a decent chin. He should be able to withstand a few of Wlad's shots. Accumulation however would make the difference.
Then Wlad should win. Of they both have roughly an equal chin and equal power, Wlad protecting his chin better should give him the advantage
Wlad used to fight in the exact same seek and destroy style before he got chin checked. Joshua as yet to taste top level power.
Both Joshua and Wlad have shaky whiskers but neither are as bad as Wilder. For a start neither Joshua or Wlad were KO'd by a LHW in the amateurs, or floored by Nichols/Sconiers calibre fighters. After seeing Wilder go at it with Bellew in the stadium, I hope Nichols shows up to confront Wilder. Wilder wants no part of Nichols, none.
Anything is possible. Aj has faced soft opposition. They took this fight because they think they can win
Absolutely true. That is excellent mandible analysis! Whichever one of these guys emerges from this fight I would favor to DESTROY that glass jawed fraud Wilder.
I think Joshua has a solid chin, not iron but decent. Problem is Wlad has the kind of power to shatter even solid chins, unless you've got an iron mandible like Wach he can take you out easily with 1 or 2 clean shots. But of course Joshua can also take Wlad out with 1 or 2 clean shots.
God dam so many great fights this year, Already witnessed some and plenty more to come 2017 is a great year to be a boxing fan!
