More than Joshua landing it was Wlad that wasn't throwing anything back. No problem with the stoppage at that point one clean hit from Joshua could've had bad ending.

I whould have broke this up after the 2nd knockdown and definitely after the third like the
referee did

 

Just saw the replay... Good stoppage Wlad legs was gone. He was out on his feet.

 

Anyone who complains about the stoppage doesn't know what the #&%^ they're talking about.

Wladimir was laying on the ropes, not throwing back & was out on his feet.

 

I totally agree. I wouldn't have the slightest problem if the ref stopped it after the knockdown just before. But if he let Wlad continue after he showed heart getting up why stop it when Joshua follows up with a flurry but nothing connects clean? Wlad is a distinguished champ, he already showed great heart and recovery ability in the fight, and Wlad would've been more dangerous the more Joshua tried to finish. Joshua likely lands another solid shot anyway, but he didn't do so yet. Wlad just should've had a bit more of a chance.

 

The body shot landed, but none of the head shots did. I agree the stoppage was premature.

I disagree. Wlad was intelligently defending himself. None of the head shots even landed. It was an odd time to stop the fight in my opinion. I'd have gave Wlad the chance to survive the round, at least waiting until another heavy shot or two landed.

 

Ref gave him the chance to throw something back, defend himself, show signs of awareness, and he did not of it.

And some of those punches in he final flurry did land.

Good stoppage, and all-around good job by the ref.

 

The ref could have stopped it after the second KD and he let it go.

It was a very good stoppage. Wlad did avoid the punches in the final flurry, but he was hurt, had zero legs, and after a round like that was too far behind on the cards anyway.

Great fight... Wlad went out like the great champ that he is. Joshua showed a ton of heart. The torch has been passed.
