What we witnessed today would have been rated a great fight in any era.

Name a heavyweight title fight since the likes of Holyfield vs Bowe which was better.

This was the best Heavyweight title fight for the past 24 years.

Agree, Wlad was out to prove something tonight and he did. Both men gave it their all.. what more can you ask for as a neutral. This was an all-time classic HW fight, no question.

It is just unfortunate that some people can't see past their own bias, so miss what is in front of them.

It's so rare that a big fight lives up to the billing but this one did. Any casuals that caught that just became life long Joshua fans. What a fight, the drama was incredible, in terms of heavyweight boxing at an elite level it's the best fight in a very long time. I think it was even better than Lewis/Vitali as this time both men went down.

Both olympic champions, both had shared training camp together (so had history), wlad being the guy AJ looked up to and never thought hed actually fight, wlad being a pro as long as aj's been alive, wlad borderline possessed with trying to claw his way back to the throne, on the verge of becoming one of the only three time champions and the second heavyweight to ever be champion after 40, AJ trying to live up to the hype, the young champion standing in the way of Wlads obsessive goal... the epitome of a crossroads fight where the old king battles his successor, and on top of it all.... in front of one of the biggest live crowds of all time, and then for them to put on a fight like that.... both men down, both men digging deep, heart, courage, violence, redemption, triumph... that was a classic to me no doubt. Beautiful, and a great reminder of why boxing is the greatest sport on earth, imo.

Wien you can't tear your eyes away for a second you know you are watching a classic! Great, great fight. Had everything you could ask. Wild momentum shirts, constant suspense, amazing heart by both guys. At one point I thought each of them was finished and both times they fought back like lions. Incredible fight!:lupie:

classic for sure. looking forward to reviewing the fight again later

hey kirk, i think i was talking to you about whether or not klitschko was able to 'pull the trigger'. What do you think post-fight? he detonated a bomb on joshua but wasn't able to finish.

I think wlad looked relatively good and could indeed pull the trigger. This isnt the first time Ive been frustrated at Wlad not throwing enough crosses so I chalk that up more to caution and inability to adapt then I do to him not being able to pull the trigger anymore.

    just imo

Personally I think it was significantly better than Lewis vs Vitali. More sustained action, much longer fight, both hit the deck and came back to badly hurt the other, a sensational non controversial finish.
