Joseph Parker on Joshua vs Klitschko 'I could land combos on either '

Parker's got a lot of work to do before he's ready for either of them. Wlad likely outpoints him and Joshua knocks him out.

Parker's time will come, but it's not now.

 

You may be right, but I think Parker is willing to take the challenge, and that's what's great for boxing.

Oh I don't doubt that. He's got balls of steel. I just question whether he's ready for either man. Well, I know he's not, going by their recent respective performances.

He'd beat that clown Wilder though.

 

Yeah Wilder-Parker is a 50/50 fight imo, Joshua would be favored against him and rightfully so.

 

Parker doesnt have the power to trouble AJ. Sorry, but when it comes to a gunslinging war and AJ is landing and Parker is landing- Parker is the one who gets hurt more.

Parker is also even more easy to hit than AJ. AJ proved against Wlad he is elite. Parkers best win is Andy Ruiz Jr, and he only sneaked that one.

Parker needs to do a lot of work if he is ever going to be ready for AJ.

 

Parker's got more than enough power to hurt and stun AJ, probably put him to the canvas as well. That's not the issue I see with him. His main areas of weakness are his ring command and his timing, pacing and defence. He's already shown himself to be very open to counter punches, and Joshua's probably the most devastating counter puncher in the game right now. Parker would need to employ a herky jerky ambush style with lots of feints to catch Joshua out and I'm not sure he'll ever be that kind of fighter. At the moment he's way too readable and basic.

I'm a Parker fan but I honestly believe they wouldn't risk a fight Wilder before AJ
AJ is a far more lucrative fight with a similar risk, it would be the smartest move career wise.

Even though AJ vs Wlad was an epic I personally don't want to see the rematch, Wlad will just be older and I don't see the point.

I don't want to see Bellew fight for a heavyweight title but if he does it might as well be Wilder and I am positive Wilder puts him to sleep.

As far as AJ vs Parker goes of course AJ is a massive favourite but anything can happen and to say Joe has no advantages is silly. Joe is definitely a better mover in the ring and I think he has a marginally better gas tank too, AJ is bloody impressive though so losing to him isn't the end of the world.

 

I'd say Parker's advantages over Joshua are speed, both footspeed and handspeed. He might have a slight advantage in punch resistance as well, though if he does it's negligible and unlikely to be a major factor in a fight between the two.

 

Parker is unproven at this point. He might do that or he might not. We don't know that yet. He had problems especially with Takam. I cannot forget that. I wouldn't mind seeing him against Wilder next.

 

Parker definitely has a better chin, never been down at all despite not having the greatest defense. Joshua has been knocked out and down several times.

Nevertheless, to be honest I think it would just prolong a Joshua - Parker fight. As a Parker fan it's the one fight I don't like, I think Parker will take huge damage which would be bad for his career.

 

He is proven to me but Im a Parker fan so however, I would love to see that next Parker vs Wilder. It just has to be the next big fight in the division. Wilders had his warm up(s) fight(s) and Parkers about to have a warm up fight, then its on!

Im a little worried about Bellew gettin in there though as Wilder might opt for Bellew next. Hope not.

 

Well he's unproven at the very top level. Joshua leapfrogged him with the Klitschko win there. He'll need to get in there with someone like Povetkin or Ortiz to get a comparable level of experience.

 

Parkers best chance to win relies on his gas tank. Smother Joshua early on the inside where AJ cant load up, work the body and take him out late when he's huffing hard. If Joe gasses and sits at range it would be over for him. But from all I've seen of Parker so far his gas tank needs vast improvements for that
