AJ looked terrible!

The first couple rds were tentative compared to a Tyson fight, or say.....one of Wilders first 35, but both guys still managed to create fireworks in every rd, and the waltzing was next to none for a HW fight.

Sure, Joshua overdid it looking to get Wlad out of there in the 5th, and he might have spent some unnecessary fuel, but could you blame him.....the shots Wlad was hitting him with would have put most guys down, maybe out, and vice versa....both wanted to finish it if possible.
Yet, rds 7-11 were STILL completely action packed for a HW bout, and we saw more punches by either fighter in 1/2 of this fight than we did by both Wlad and Fury thru 12.

This was a war, and a damned good one.

Sad to see Wlad lose, but.....I honestly dont think he's done.

A couple easy picking fights in the WBC top 20 and good night Wilder if Parker doesnt rid of of him first.

 

Ortiz is the man that can do it. Joshua struggles with shorter pressure fighters.

The first 4 rounds were pretty close but i gave at least 3 of them to AJ.

No other fighter than Klitschko would have hit him with a cross like that , it was probably the hardest cross ever
and so it is not to debate wether another fighter would have finished him because another fighter can't hit him
with that straight right hand , you understand ?

Klitschko was in tremendous shape , he was not shot at all , he didn't gass in the fight.

To say that AJ looked terrible in this fight is ridiculous , they both looked great.

 

AJ got buzzed Top Gun style and had to go defensive....then done what a pro should do

 

The round before most shot landed were joshua body shots

 

Hes too static mate...great fighter. But too static for joshua. The man that beats joshua will need a wide stance. You need to make him unsure when too throw. A bigger prime haye would be the perfect recipe. Haye wasnt big enough and definetely not prime enough. But thats the answer. Klitchko almost had it but couldnt discourage joshua from throwing enough a younger wlad probably would have. . I say wilder does it. Wide stance...makes you unsure when hes sticking that right hand in. I think joshuas the better fighter. Not by much. But wilder will knock him out.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if he beat Joshua. I figure he will be filled with boar chitlins and PED's for his great return! At that stage he will be unstoppable!

 

Another consideration could be that AJ went for the KO which gave the ATG opportunities, whereas Fury never really engaged offensively!

 

Joshua won the best way possible, He showed heart, skills and the mental fortitude to push past adversity.

No one can say he beat a shot Vlad.

Wlad looked better than he has done in his past 2 fights, actually looked very good. If Wlad can hurt Joshua and still not put him away please explain who can?

 

He went up a couple of levels and unsurprisingly had his weaknesses confirmed. He doesn't move his head enough, does move reasonably well but sometimes forgets and is too stationary and that combined with little head movement makes him any easy target.

Being so big he can't sustain a high output for long without gassing a bit, but his overall endurance is OK and he recovers well. He can go 12 rounds, but he'll need someone on him consistently to make him gas which of course is dangerous with his power and ability at mid range, especially with that uppercut.

He's a work in progress at the moment. He's only had 19 fights and is improving with each fight. The positive I took from the fight other than the obvious like that he can carry his power late is that he did try and come up for an answer for Wlad's clinching. It didn't always work but he did stop some of the clinching by using his forearm, he made an adaptation here to counter one of Wlad's strengths and he also used that forearm to pick off Wlad's jab. With each fight he's adding something new to his arsenal, when he does reach his peak he may very well be the last man standing in the division.

Fury had Klitschko ready to go in the 11th round. The ref jumped in and saved Wlad. Wlad was turning his back and was holding while badly rocked, and Fury accidentally hit him behind the head once. So the ref took a point away with zero previous warnings and let Wlad take a break until he was fully recovered. Turning your back on an opponent while hurt, to me that is a signal that you are wanting the ref to stop the fight.

But Wlad throwing an intentional running, jumping headbutt at Fury thats okay. No big deal in Germany.

Fury's win over Wlad is superior to AJ's.
People who know boxing know that.
Joshua-Klitschko was a far far better fight but going life and death with an older version of the old man pales in comparison to winning a clear points win comfortably.
Fury is entitled to live off that win his whole life. Most people don't accomplish anything remotely comparable.

I give both AJ and Fury full credit for what they did, all the more so because I expected Wlad to win both those fights.
