Joshua has a lot more in his arsenal than both Bruno and Ruddock IMO. It's a fight I'd love to see but I wouldn't be surprised to see Joshua take Tyson out faster than anybody before. Once he sees red he's an animal to say the least.

Speed coupled with defence, power, accuracy, magnificent stamina, an IRON CHIN and excellent footwork. Tyson would kill him.

Joshua has a lot to learn, he needs a Manny Steward figure. As mentioned before, that's the best type of trainer for him/he's the best type of fighter for a Steward type trainer.

But don't you think this 41 year old Klitschko is something akin to an Old Foreman in certain ways?
He's very capable in the top ranks at his age.

I think if they were to rematch, AJ would be more relaxed and would blow him out in 1 or 2.

    He's in a tough place.
He's way better than anyone who is not Wilder, Joshua or Fury.
But there is a sizable gap between him and those three.

Thing is, even if he ended his career 99-0, you would still pick Marciano over him.

He's as good as it gets these days. This is the super heavyweight division now after all and this, for this division, was a good fight. The whole style and pace of SHW fights is dictated entirely by the sheer size of these overdeveloped athletes. If they look gassed after a short spell, it's normal, they seem to find second winds later on since the pace will allow for it among like sized behemoths.

Interestingly clinching was almost entirely absent in this fight. almost like it had been agreed before hand.i really wonder about this because I have never seen such a clinch free SHW championship fight. Most of them are huggathons. I hope this will start a trend!

Wlad's performance at 41 puts things into perspective a little with Joshua. Wlad of 5 years ago maybe even two years ago finishes him in the 6th of 7th round.
Having said that, Joshua showed the heart and fortitude of a champion. First in Taking this fight and then getting up off the floor from a massive righthand.
So I say, he's not superman like many of his fans suggest, but he showed traits that make a great fighter last night. He's big , he can punch, his stamina is ok and he has good skill, with room for improvement.

To be fair, If they rematch quite soon, We don't know how much sharper Klit might be without so much rust to shed. He was coming off quite a break after all.

There is a chance however, like you say, Being less anxious about pace Joshua could go up a level knowing That he has passed some important tests in that bout. He won't have to hold back anymore because he's been in a 11round war and won. He can go for it knowing if he has to he now has the rounds behind him at that level.

I think a rematch could only favor AJ. Wlad showed little signs of deep rust, when you consider his inability let his hands go against Fury.

This was Wlad's last hurrah, in my opinion, and I doubt he could improve on this performance. Conversely, AJ will improve. The only question is by how much.

AJ received an education last night and will improve...Wlad at this point in time, will not.

AJ has a lot of vulnerabilities, he's still raw but the talent clearly is there. He needs to drop some muscle and learn how to pace himself because the way he got tired in the 5th was shocking. I wish an old school trainer like Steward or Futch was still around to develop him.

He's still a very good boxer, yes.

    Maybe. Wladimir should retire.
Let's be honest, both our predictions for this fight were "close, but way off" (you had AJ dominating and winning KO5, right ? I thought Wlad would win by KO sometime). Probably not the best time to start predicting the result a hypothetical rematch.

I hope he retires, while he likely would have beaten Wilder or Fury with the shape and motivation he was in, he's also 41, with nothing at all left to prove. So what would he come back to or for?

Boxing can show you who you are when you lose. He went out with full effort, vs the best man in the world today who's in his prime at age 27 and nearly beat him.

Had this fight taken place when Wlad was younger, I think he wins it, but as they say in sports that was then, and this is now.

I tend to agree. I think last night was Wlad at the best he could have been at this stage of his career.
    AJ should improve next fight.
The momentum favours AJ in a rematch.

The best thing for the heavyweight division now would be for Fury to get fit, come back, get a tune-up then fight AJ. I believe Fury has the most potential. The man made a believer of me, he can really box.
AJ's shown he's got heart and grit. The two of them would be an interesting match.

I think this fight puts to rest Wlad's heart and durability questions. Neither are as bad has his critics have said for years. This was the first time he was floored in 10+ years at age...41! In most of his fights, Wlad took the intelligent and easier path to victory.

It also answered questions on Joshua. His chin is all right, and so is his heart. His defense to right hands and stamina, as I questioned can be exploited by top level heavies. But I think he's the best out there, and can remain on top for a while. Please, fight top ten guys from here on in, that's all I ask of Joshua.

Joshua vs Povetkin would be a good one! Or fight Ortiz or Wilder.
