AJ put the exclamation point on the end of the klitschko era and its' the best thing that could have been done for the sport of boxing.

Now that the weakest, most vapid, boring and absolutely un-watchable era in hw boxing history (even HBO basically stopped airing klitschko hw title fights for being horribly tedious) is officially over, hopefully we can get back to some 90's-level exciting matchups....hell, at this point, after the vast and wretched wasteland of the klitschko era, I'll be happy if the hw div could even get back to what it was in the 80's.

The 80's Tyson era was shyte.

Also could have been worse at least Wlad went out in a competitive fight against a beast of a champion as opposed to being stopped by McBride....just saying.....

How does the brothers retiring make an era better?

That thought process is ultimate Klitschko fan mentality.

The Klitschko's should get more respect. Champions for over ten years, dominating the heavyweight scene, fighting all comers, and now a new era. We'll have to see what happens, but yeah, it's exciting times because now it's competive.

Yep this. Just because everyone else was so **** in comparison is what made the era suck.

Too many during their era were either not in shape or over protected on the way up so were not properly prepared when they got their shot. Yeah it was horrible era but you can't blame the Klits for the travesty that was the rest of the division.

do you reckon this is what people thought when joe louis retired?

after all, he feasted on a week division much like wlad.

Aj is a worthy top gun. The ironic thing is Wlad's effort at age 41 should raise his stock, as many of his UK critics, know full well he nearly beat Joshua, and Wlad is easily Joshua's best win. That is the truth.

I am truly not a wald fan. But that was the best competition I ever saw him fight and he looked great. If he knew how to close he could have won that fight. but fighting crap competition almost his entire career he never had to learn the urgency to not f@#^ around and get the guy out of there.

late to the wald fan base but damn that was great. i watched that fight three times so far.

Wlad from 5 years ago would def beat Joshua , Fury and then Wilder and you'd all say division is **** again.
