When was the last time you saw someone recover like AJ did?

As far as Heavyweights go, probably Holyfield against Bowe in the 10th round of their first fight. Generally, across the divisions, you think of Juan Manuel Marquez after the first round of his first fight with Pacquiao.

And lets not forget: Wlad himself was extremely unsteady after he was knocked down in the 5th, and he recovered exceptionally well too to finish the round strongly and on top. That 5th round between Joshua and Klitschko really was remeniscent of the 10th round in the first Holyfield vs Bowe fight.

Yeah, he'll be kicking himself looking at the replay. There for the taking AJ was imo. I didn't think Wlad had the bottle to fight how he did at times. i don't think he has shown what he was truely capable of the last few years.

And was giving Tyson a whipping for most of that bout. It was nearly all one-way traffic from Douglas.

He only recovered because Klitschko let him, fact.

Wlad let him off the hook, and should have went for the finish more than he did.

Very good point, TS. And I think importantly that puts to rest the mythbabout AJ being "chiny".

Pulev got touch with that left hook and was sleeping. That straight right carried, imo, way more power.

But to answer your original question, Fury did well to get up after getting levelled by Cunningham

Edit: few posters saying Wlad "let him recover"...really. Go back and watch the fight i did for a second time and you'll clearly see that Wlad threw about 3 left hooks that AJ slipped. Same left single hook that KO'd Pulev

Klitschko was almost stopped himself a round earlier, he didn't "let him" recover.

Douglas wasn't really that hurt, more of just a flash KD.

Joshua's tank was spent at the end of the 5th and then he got knocked down heavily in the 6th and hung on for dear life. The crowd was taken right out of it but then Joshua did get a second wind late on. Wlad should have finished him, he'll know that.

agree I think wlad got comfortable slowing it down jabbinh and pot shotting I don't think he figured Joshua was going to be able to mount something like he did in 11

No one let's anyone off the hook

If you can get the job done you either don't have the tank, the opponent is still posing a big threat or your not good enough

He obviously didn't have it in the tank and was cautious

Klitschko let him off the hook... He was out on his feet for 2-3 rounds.

In terms of real fight experience like that he is a complete novice.

He laced up a pair of gloves less than 10 years ago for **** sake.
