Wlad always looks better against people who stand in front of him. Compare him to Jennings and then Pulev for example, styles make fights. It's just that in Tyson Fury he was up against a mover, with great feet, pivots and creating angles who actually had the size to go with it. Fury may not have thrown a great deal against Wlad and he certainly doesn't have the power or brute force that AJ showed last night, but watch it again and look at his feet. Light years ahead of AJ and Wlad simply wasn't good enough to deal with it. I mean come on, Joshua showed amazing heart and balls but he did go life and death in there whereas Fury had his hands behind back, slipping Wlads one and twos with ease and literally laughing in his face as he did so. Fury at his best will also school AJ and make him look really stiff, robotic, plodding and basic. I actually think Fury stops a gassed out AJ late on through accumulative pressure.
You're deluding yourself. Wladimir couldn't do a thing with Fury because Fury simple didn't let him. It's angles, it's movement, it's boxing. Mayweather schooled guys with low punch output too, yet no one denies Mayweather schooled them. Shutting down the opponent's offense and nicking rounds with minimal effort is a sign of superiority. Wladimir was befuddled and puzzled throughout his fight with Fury. Truth is, you thought AJ would walk through Wlad, dominate him and KO him in a few rounds, now that he didn't do that you're finding reasons to explain how the old over-the-hill Wlad gave AJ such a tough fight, pretending he was better fighter than he's been in years. JOSHUA'S PERFORMANCE WAS AMAZING. I expected Wlad to win the fight (just as I expected Wlad to win against Fury, I was wrong). But Joshua's obvious flaws were confirmed in the fight. He showed us something new, his heart and grit and ability to score late stoppage win.
I do think that. Wlad would be more aggressive and he would win. Fury cant punch so he has nothing to keep wlad off of him if wlad is aggressive.
Fury is not good. Joshua landed more clean, crisp punches on Wlad in one round, than Fury did in 12. Fury was flailing, throwing pity pat, and it was an extremely sloppy fight.
Fury is just longer and has a huge reach, he has very fast feet, much faster than joshua's. So klitchko would not be able to take the centre and pump his jab, fury never in range for him. However he could took more risks and hurt fury.
I think he was at his absolute best at 30-35. The speed, reflexes and hand speed were better then. You can see it clearly. Along with being much better schooled than he was when defeated by Sanders and Brewster. Plus... that Wlad had Manny in his corner. Just a more dangerous boxer in my opinion. That's because it was a completely different fight stylistically. What do you mean Fury's not good? He wasn't flailing. He was giving him angles and feinting, making him hesitant to commit.
I can respect your opinion in regards to his physical attributes. But what about his mindset? Manny is a hall of fame trainer. But he made him ultra cautious. I'd honestly have given a young version of Wlad a better chance of beating Tyson, than the versions who fought with Manny in his corner. That version of Wlad would always have been hesitant, being deeply troubled by his supreme confidence and mobility.
