August 1950 he was 147, October 1950 he was 159. He changed his weight depending upon the assignment that faced him. Another man who did similar is Archie Moore, he would routinely adjust his weight depending upon the foe he faced. Carnera never beat a man as good the Wladimir Klitschko that Joshua beat.
Shoulder snap to drive power is a great size equalizer. https://streamable.com/hf9ii Imagine Marcianos shoulder snap punching with his frame and style, holy moly. Joshua has a pretty big shoulder snap too but not quite the same level.
The underlined is correct he hit the wall and gassed, youth got him through, and the fact is that when he got up and was a Frank Bruno like target for some moments, Wlad was too arm weary to finish him .
You think it would be easy for a man with a 68" reach to land on Joshua's chin?A short croucher has to come up out of that crouch to land on a tall opponents chin ,and as Jack Johnson said about his up coming fight with Burns, when he comes up out of that crouch I nail him. N.B. Joshua beat Wlad with the uppercut, which is the best weapon to use against the croucher
You don't think their respective weight was distributed differently? Foreman is 2 inches taller than Louis was, and has 2 inches of reach on him.
Joshua is still improving, he isn't a great fighter yet and may never become one, but he beat a pretty good version of Wlad imo.I haven't seen Wlad look as good as that for a few fights.
Marciano was knocked down a 40 years old light heavyweight ,we never saw him hit by a 250lbs banger who was a class fighter so his chin against one is unproven.imo.
Exactly, having shot his bolt, josh was an eyelash away from being demolished at that moment. He was fortunate it was a 41 year old guy trying to capitalise on him.
