Am I the only one who failed to see this coming lol Ah never mind Rummy tell me who called this one in this manner.
You underestimated the effects of aging, Rummy. That list you made of former champions over 35? Absolutely damning. Any fighter 39 or over is an upset waiting guaranteed to happen. Just look at fighters like Adamek, Mansour, Martin Rogan, etc. Soon as fighters get around 40, you see upsets. Heavy punchers and sluggers can last a bit more, but definitely not technicians. Floyd knew this. That's why he retired at 38.
Nice job Rummy I would love to know who called this for AJ in the championship rounds by TKO because most of us never thought it would go past 8 rounds no matter who you picked to win What a FKN amazing fight
50 -50 fight Rummy. I cant remember if you predicted a round in your video but from 6 to 9 he was just 1 heavy contact away from being finished. Just 1 big shot. So many unknown factors made it was such a tough one to predict in finer detail. As already said on here there cant of been many people called it for AJ in the 11th. I predicted Joshua but when Wlad did him so early in the 6th and Joshua was a bit of a mess when he got back up i thought that was that, too little experience against somebody like Wlad with so much time. I never knew he would have the grit and savvy to grind out 3 rounds of absolute nothing and get his 2nd wind.
Good recap and you nailed it. Both men gave us an incredible fight. Initially I thought that a re-match would be a good thing.. but.. now the blood is running a bit cooler, I think a re-match could never live up to what we just saw and would be a disappointment.
Can't remember what it was but Kellerman said what AJ did was a first apparently, something to do with getting of the canvas I think, that uppercut is some beautiful punch,it got Whyte outta there and totally rocked Wlads world. One things for certain and that is Wlad looks so dangerous when he lets his hands go,I'm not sure anyone else would of stood up to that from Wlad that night.
Absolutely, Lewis/Klitschko springs to mind and fighters know full well when it's gone. Klitschko's loss to Fury exposed an ageing Champion who could no longer pull the trigger.Louis, Liston, Ali, Holyfield and Lewis all came apart at the seams during their late 30's
I can't say that is a fair assessment of what Wlad was doing that night. He was as active in this fight than he was in his last 5 for certain. He did not clinch and lean and he was throwing punches like his life depended on it. Far different from... This content is protected This was the best Wlad in 5 years and we just have to admit that Anthony Joshua is the goods. Whats so hard about giving that man credit to some? He did better than Fury who really did nothing by comparison. This content is protected vs This content is protected
So A.J. was the guy who many posted on these forums would beat Muhammad Ali? Cinderella turned back into a pumpkin a 27 year old fighter in a life a death tussle with a 41 year old man.
