I'm asking you who do you think did better vs Wlad, Fury or Joshua?

Now at first you might think "well obviously Fury" since he pretty much won every round en route to a UD. But ask yourself isn't it better to knock down somebody 3 times (4 times including the stoppage) and stop somebody than to just "run away" so to speak and cruise to a UD?

Joshua also produced a far more entertaining fight with Wlad. It's a hard question to answer because we saw a much better version of Wlad vs Joshua. But still, isn't it fair to say that Joshua did better vs "a better version of Wlad" by stopping him?

I'm asking this becuase Fury sent out a message to AJ saying that Joshua went life and death with Wlad (which he did) while Fury won easily. No question Fury had an easier time with Wlad, but does that translate to a better performance? I'm really asking you how you rate winning a fight like Fury did over Wlad to a slugfest like AJ vs Wlad?

As boxing fans, don't we prefer exciting slugfests where there's knockdowns and knockouts to what Fury did vs Wlad? So who in your view did better vs Wlad? Fury or AJ?

AJ did a better job in stopping Klitschko but that is not to take anything away from Fury's victory.

AJ Wlad was more entertaining. AJ fury showed more dominance on the part of the winning fighter. I don't see how these points can really be argued.

Firstly, both of them produced brilliant performances and deserve tons of credit for winning. Before both of those fights I had picked Wlad to be victor.

The question : who did better ?
    Well, that's simple enough.

Joshua almost lost. He was down and on the brink of getting stopped.

Fury won comfortably. He never looked remotely like getting stopped, and outboxed Wlad in almost every round.

    Conclusion: Fury did better.

Both did what they needed to do on the particular night against two different versions of Wlad. I prefer Joshua's power, explosiveness and heart to Fury's "evasiveness". So Joshua for me.

How is this even a question?

One guy was almost knocked dead. The other won in cruise control with his arms behind his back.

Hard to argue with that, but isn't stopping someone better than winning a decision? Joshua did almost lose, but at the same time I think we can agree that this was a much better, much more motivated, in better shape, version of Wlad.

Yeah but isn't stopping somebody better than winning a decision?

Then you should have titled the thread - who won in more impressive fashion.

What's this better version of wlad nonsense?

Wlad looked faster and more agile and skillful against aj because aj isn't as fast agile and skillful as fury.

The man is in he's 40's and is a year and a half older than when he faced fury with a year and a half lay off. Physically it defys all logic to say the wlad Joshua faced was better.

He just looked better and shaper because he wasn't dealing with fury and he's feints keeping him off balance and unable to get he's shoots off

Well, Ross Purrity, Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster stopped Wlad too.
Only one man has outpointed him for a decision win.

I don't think a KO is always better than a decision. Certainly not a KO in a life-and-death fight compared to an easy clear decision.

    No, I don't agree.
    Wladimir wasn't better.
in 2015 Wladimir wanted to beat Fury badly, he wanted to shut Fury's face. They all do. Wlad was in great shape, he always is.
Fighters don't get better between ages 39 and 41.

    What victory will be remembered?

I think we all know the answer. Joshua won in style showing Fortitude and a heart of a champion. Those sort of victories don't happen often.

Hrmm I think it's pretty clear that this was a better version of Wlad vs AJ. Roy Jones said this was the best version of Wlad he ever seen. A lot of people praised him for his performance.

I don't know about you, but a part of me really wants to see Wlad Fury 2, I want to see this version of Wlad vs Fury. i.e. A balls to the wall Wlad trying to get into a fist fight with Fury. I mean lets be real Wlad looked completely out of it vs Tyson Fury. I'm trying to gauge how much of Tyson's win was Wlad's being gunshy, and not being prepared for Tyson's movement. Not to take anything away from Fury, it was a brilliant display of Heavyweight boxing, but I think now that Wlad was been in there with Fury, another go round would be a different story.

In generally fighters don't get better between 39 and 41, but in this case I think Wlad did. Age is just a number.

No , Wladimir was a lot better than in his fight with Tyson Fury , he was the hungriest , strongest and most mentally stable Wlad since a long time.

Fury went to Germany and defeated a long-time 11-year winning streak champion is his own adopted backyard.

I think, if Wlad is remembered, Fury will be remembered. The man who dethroned Wlad. The win won't ever be forgotten.
Not a classic fight but a great win.
