Tyson would knock him out. Klitchkos would have a chance against tyson because they became masters of using the height/reach advantage. But joshua doesnt use it to his advantage. Joshua would get hurt early and finished. Also doesnt use his jab enough to stop tyson coming forward. You need a jab. Even post prison tyson has a chance...but joshuas odds look a good bit better. People need to understand tyson lived boxing from a very young age. He basically trained like a professional from a kid. His whole life depended on becoming a success. Led by a coach that was not only obssessed with suceeding but also knew exactly what he was doing.
Feel like Tyson, was the last of the great athleticism type of fighters, before it went into the huge gigantic type of mundane fighters, we seen with Lewis, Klitschko's, Valuev, Fury. Boxing has changed so much since Tyson, and now it's changing again from the big monsters of the early 2000s to now. With Young Fresh, hungry monsters with Athleticism. Think if Tyson catches Him first Tyson wins, but if AJ catches first he wins. Really is a pick'em fight but think if he fought well AJ could work well behind his size.
What do you mean who? He was 5'10, with a 71" reach. His peak weight was just under 220 pounds. Just about everyone he fought had significant advantages in height, reach and weight.
Prime Tyson would have been too much for Joshua at this stage of his career. Joshua strikes me as someone who will keep on improving with age because he has great dedication. But where he is right now a prime Tyson would chop him down within 6 rounds
Not sure why you would call me an imbecile for having a well informed opinion that is different than yours but whatever. I'm not going to resort to name calling. 1st- I never even said Joshua would beat Tyson. My point is that the notion that Tyson would KO Joshua in seconds is silly based on the FACT that Mike would be at such a dramatic size disadvantage and my OPINION that Mike struggled much more with decently skilled large heavyweights, which is an opinion that is rooted in his actual fights, not nostalgia or revisionist history. 2nd-It is widely considered that male adults are in there physical prime from their mid 20's through their early 30's. I stated that Evander Holyfield was the best heavyweight in the world throughout most of Tysons physical prime. This, I feel, is a strong opinion that would be hard to refute. 3rd-You stated that Mike Tyson's "mental and physical state" started to decline in 1985. He was 19 years old in '85. If a boxer is getting past there prime at 19 in their very first year as a pro...we'll then they never even had a prime. Also, by the end of 1987, I feel Tysons best win was his 15 round decision over a prime, undefeated Toney Tucker. Sure, that fight is another great example of a big heavyweight Mike couldn't KO or even knock down, but that was a damn good win. Perhaps a prime Tyson could, in fact, beat AJ in similar fashion. Although AJ is a much heavier, harder punching heavyweight than Tucker so perhaps not. 4th- It's possible that if you still think I am an imbecile who has a lot to learn about older fighters, you may be feeling that you are an utter dip**** after reading this. I assure you, I am not an imbecile and you are not an utter dip****. You are simply ill-informed. P.S. I would give a prime Holyfield a very good chance of beating AJ based on his performances against Foreman, Bowe and the second fight with Lennox Lewis.
If it's so easy, give me the names of the large, skilled heavyweights Tyson KO'd. Golota after his 2nd round quit job when both were well past prime? Ok. Who else??
Tyson never won against an elite SHW like AJ/Klischkos/Lewis/Bowe. Lewis easily handled Tyson by simply tying him down. "Prime" Tyson wouldn't have any recipe against holding and being leaned on. Being 10 years younger doesn't help against 245 lbs of muscle leaning on you. If AJ learned to hold and tie him down he'd destroy Tyson just like Lewis did.
