I just noticed this on Boxrec. Is this the first time it has happened? Obviously Bute failed the test and I think this is something boxing should be doing. Especially if it results in a draw. Also, does anyone remember the fight a few years ago that was changed from a win to a loss due to the scorecards being so terrible? It was two lesser known fighters and I can't think of it.
Pacquiao-Mayweather should be changed to an NC. USADA gave Floyd a free pass (TUE) for doping, but then months later suspended and fined BJ Penn for receiving IV fluids in lower quantities, under the guidance of a doctor, and out-of-competition training.
There was another big fight where the result was altered Michalczewski/Rocchigiani 1 http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Fight:10836 I thought that Rocchigiani was declared the winner but I was obviously wrong. It says it was declared a draw but later altered
I'm going to do some digging. I believe the fight was declared a Draw but then it was switched to a win because the judging was terrible. I want to say i was within the last 4 years. I will find it, I did before but cannot remember who it was. Two lesser known guys. EDIT: http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Fight:1995155 Kerry Hope vs. Poomarase Yoohanngoh
that's great! I always advocated this. Now let''s change Lebedev vs Jones, Rosado vs Love, Price vs Teper, Chudinov vs Sturm and Peterson vs Khan to a DQ too. Pretty sure I missed a couple.
The idiotic precedent of not giving these guys DQ losses goes back to Botha-Schulz, so we've got 20+ years of them to unravel. That's a fine start you've given, though.
