That's beside the point doofus, how Tyson got there. We're talking prime Iron Mike and you keep coming back with way post prime Mike acting like that washed up version is a facsimile of the prime version.
He made a point that Lennox was lucky that he fought Mike when he did. My reply is NOT beside THAT point (insert random insult here). He then replied that he felt that it is irrelevant who's fault it was they fought so late. Fair enough. If you can't read or comprehend the posts, please stay out of the conversation so I don't have to provide blow by blow commentary. Christ.
Joshua is at the peak of his career-and only 19 fights at 27. He's reached his prime- its all downhill from here IMHO So much BS and bias on this forum
it was a great win by AJ but I still find Tyson's version better, destroying iron chinned Holmes in 4 rounds, barely getting touched. Wlad dam near won that fight, he looked pretty good but his timing was off and he wasnt really landing when he should have. but massive credit to AJ, he showed more balls and determination that he should have at this point in his career. but comparing him to Tyson at this point is still too soon.
BS. Doesn't change the fact that you're continually trying to downplay Tyson in his prime. Pretty much. Compared to Tyson who had become undisputed at 21. He's at least half a decade from his physical prime. Joshua and Tyson were on different trajectories.
Tyson won a 12 round decision over Tucker, Mike never went any further then 12 rounds. His fights that were scheduled for 15 all ended early. As far as the question I'm one of the older guard on here and I think it's a bit premature to start picking Joshua over those whose entire careers have already played out. This is Joshua's first legit win in my eyes, and I'm impressed but let's sit back and see what's next before we start crowning him and making him into an unbeatable monster.
That's great. That will stay with you forever. A pity about the drunk guy though, as you could have had longer with him.
I'd fancy Joshua with the same number of bouts as Tyson, the size difference would be massive and you would have a fighter trying to take Tyson' s head off....
Good catch. I had to look it up and you are correct it was a 12 round fight. Without being able to look it up I actually would've bet money that it was a 15 round fight for some reason. I guess my memory betrayed me.
Enough with the myth of "prime" tyson. Tyson was way too small to compete with the elite 6'4" and above fighters. Hell, I grew up through the tyson era, most over rated fighter since marciano
Trying to take the head off a small moving target will only expand more energy. Joshua would be gassed even quicker.
Prime Mike Tyson is one of the biggest myths in the history of the sport , he was destroyed by Evander Holyfield who was further away from his prime than he was. Do you guys really think that Holyfield is more dangerous or stronger than AJ ? Anthony Joshua would probably win in a one sided beatdown.
Tyson would have to land and truly hurt Aj, he's never just gassed. If he gets hurt he takes his time, couple rounds to fully recover. It's actually a very smart things to do. Wlad hits so much harder than tyson ever could and once hurt tyson is done, thats his factual history. Aj got caught by wlads perfect full left hook rushing to finish wlad. Wlad landed every shot he had clean in round d s 5&6 Aj got through hell and took a couple rounds to fully recover, I swear most of you are so confused watching fights. By round 9 Aj was back to 100% and tried to end things in round 10, took him till 11, wlad I s 10x the hw tyson truly ever was.
Joshua isnt quick enough on his feet. Tyson would get inside. its the guys that have good foot movement that can escape Tyson.
