Chavez is right canelo never took a risk all he has ever done was fight big named welterweight fighters and some of them even past it like mosley and cotto.

Canelo fighting Andrade or even the charlo brothers are more risky fights then fighting a welterweight Mayweather/cotto/mosley/khan all these fighters have is a popular name.

Lol GGG aside Canelo is taking a risk here for sure, not sure they were banking on the usual lazy arse Chavez coming in looking good.
I think both Canelo and Oscar knew they couldn't take another mismatch as his rep was taking a hit.

put it this way which is a more risky fight for Canelo a 160 ib jermall charlo or a natural welterweight Mayweather/cotto/mosley?

canelo fought those guys because its no risk and big reward they have big names he has yet to take a true physical risk in the ring

Cintron, Trout, Lara, Kirkland.... seems like a very good amount of risk for me.

Is "Smokin'" Chávez Jr. smoking weed again? too bad... :(

Canelo told it best to Junior.

"When you were the A side you never made an attempt to fight me, now that I'm the A side the fight is happening because of me."

Chavez had nothing to say because its the truth. This fight has been 5 years in the making in Mexico. Its a fight that has always been discussed and desired in the Mexican boxing scene. Chavez Jr. had the opportunity a few years back to make the fight but according to Canelo didn't get made because of Chavez, and Chavez had no response to that.

Chavez was fighting at 160 five years ago and we both know Canelo wasn't going to fight at 160 he would have made Chavez drain to 155 or lower like he is making him drain now. Get out of here with this BS.

You do realize that Canelo is moving 10 lbs for this heavily anticioated Mexican showdown, right???

5 years ago Canelo would not have had to fight at 164.5, he would have probably fought him anywhere between 155-160... REGARDLESS, Chavez was the A side 5 years ago, so he would have likely dictated, NOT Canelo.

Canelo and Oscar arnt exactly shooting completely straight when they talk though are they. Im sure they made a real poor offer for Chavez to drop 2 or 3 weights too. If it happened at all that is.

5 years ago Canelo wasn't going to fight at 160. There was no way to make this fight otherwise 5 years ago like you said. It is laughable that he is draining Chavez as it is. Canelo fighting at 164.5 in 2017 has nothing to do with what weight he would fight at 5 years ago.

Lol, so funny to see you guys understimating guys like 90% ko 1 defeat kirkland. Or underestimating a victory over cintron at 21 years old.

Canelo has taken risks enough for me. You dont think so?, ok, good for you.

Kirkland was a Glass Jawed ***** and a handpicked fight for that reason just like Khan was handpicked because of his Glass Jaw. These fights were made to make Canelo look like a power puncher which he isn't. More smoke and mirrors from Oscar and Golden Boy.
