Every other post about Rocky is describing how slow he was.

Personally, I don't see it. Never have. And I've watched lots of footage on Rock.

Can someone show me why people say he is slow?
And not out of context quotes from Goldman or stories by Bert Sugar, I mean footage.

If I asked for a clip to show Ali's speed, how hard would it be?
If I asked for a clip on Joe Louis power, how hard would it be?
If I asked for a clip on Mayweathers reactions, how hard would it be?

Well, everyone is saying Rocky was slow, unskilled, and crude.
Can someone provide footage? How hard can it be?

He didn't have particularly fast feet for an ATG. So if we compare him to other fighters of his type, you have Frazier, faster feet, Tyson, faster feet, Patterson, faster feet, Jack Dempsey, faster feet, Evander Holyfield, faster feet.

So of the smaller pressure fighters he has the slowest feet of the ATG heavies.

There is something similar to be said of his hands.

So no, not slow, but maybe slower than directly comparable fighters who also qualify as ATG.

    That is reasonable.
But when people say he is slow, crude, unskilled, it doesnt sound like they're setting the bar that high.

Not being faster than Dempsey, Ali and Patterson doesn't make you slow.

Really imagine Kellerman, Jones, and Lampley were covering this action.

How do you think they would describe him?
Do you think they would consider him slow or fast?

In that world you can probably paint the whole neighborhood before Bowe throws one.

He looks slow compared to many great Heavyweights, but I think its simply just his style! He wasn't trying to be flashy at all, just timing and setting up his next 3 or 4 moves. It's all a game of chess for Marciano.

Rocky wasn't fast, but he was fast enough to catch up and finish quick boxers with good defense in Walcott and LaStarza.

With Rocky, his short arms were a zero in the jabbing department, but up close his opponents had less time to react to them.

Look how fast Marcianos gloves reaches his opponent relative to the power he uses.

One of the best combinations of speed and power ever.

I wonder how the HBO cast would call this:
    https://streamable.com/dqbxu

Jim: "Rocky Marciano, continuing his incredible non stop attack!"
Kellerman: "He doesn't pause for even a millisecond. Look at him go!..BANG!....BANG!....bang again! It's like he has a motor in his body!"
Jones Jr: "Jim, this man is a machine. Any textbook boxing you think will help you against this guy you need to throw out the window. He never lets you breath, he gives you no room, and he hits extremely hard. Wow this man is something!."

Slow feet or fast feet it matters not. What matters is he was always on top of whoever he was fighting and gave them zero breathing room.

I can take one giant step to match 10 little fast steps, and cover ground more quickly.
But my leg might look like its moving slower.

Check out how Lee Savold is able to easily maneuver around Mr. Slow Hand and Foot:

But really, nobody can produce footage of Rocky being the 3 things he is called most on this forum?
I see, we are favoring Bert Sugar campfire stores over hard footage.
