LOL at 09:44. He throws a punch and misses and he's so quick he hits the deck before the counter lands.

Every ATG has slipped on the canvas, even Ali. Especially power punchers.

If every other post is describing him as slow and you are the only one saying different, is it just possible that in this case the overwhelming majority may be right?
Can someone show me where he is fast, not out of context quotes from Reznik, I mean footage.

I had a hunch, but there are people here who actually think that him slipping signals that he was unskilled and crude. Can't tell the difference at this point, although it does sound like a joke. Sorry!

He wasn't fast enough to catch them when they were fresh, he relied on an incessant barrage of punches to slow them down to his speed. That's why he was behind against Walcott and lost 4 of the first 6 rds to Lastarza.

"Trying to knock the challenger out with one punch, the 29-year-old Marciano was over-eager and awkward. He lunged, butted, hit below the belt, on the break and after the bell. Once, he swung so wildly that he missed and slipped clumsily to the canvas. Outboxing the champion and avoiding his blows, LaStarza managed to win four of the first six rounds. In the seventh, Marciano changed his tactics, started aiming at LaStarza's body as well as his head in an attempt to wear the challenger down. He succeeded."

That would include the reporters who were at the second Lastarza fight then.

    No mention of his power?
    No mention of his strength?
    Or his durability? Stamina?

It's not a proper boxing analysis, and would never fly in modern boxiana.
The way they describe him doesn't match the footage, where there is far greater depth than what they describe.

    A dose of reality ^

What do you think these reporters would say about young Foreman?
And then, what do you think the HBO cast would say of the same young Foreman?

    Two drastically different thing.

Times have changed. Information was worse then. And if you have any vision, you would put these reports through a modern filter of analysis.

Fake news, obviously. Those idiot reporters either didn't know what they were looking at or they had some kind of agenda. If only Marciano had had Rez there to school then on some of the subtle nuances of wild swing-and-falls...

No worries. You're not the first not to get my jokes and I doubt you'll be the last. All the best.

I understand. I know where my position is, and where the mainstream consensus of boxiana is. I know I'm up against a big force of poor information. But I believe in my position, and that the footage backs up what I say. As long as the footage supports me, I will keep saying what I believe to be the truth.

No one claimed Foreman had "subtle skills ,"and "underated defence" ,or that he was," fast".
