Im talking about the 10 second clips he posts of several different fighters doing different things and using at as example that said fighter had elite skills on par with modern(80s and later) fighters. Many of the examples are things a good amateur does after a year of training., for example he posted a video of Primo Carnera tapping and pawing with his jab, controlling the range. A tall good amateur would be able and would be expected to do that after a year in my gym

Not against a fighter like Max Baer or Sharkey or any other top fighter Carnera fought. A tall good amateur with a year of training trying that against one of those guys would get knocked out in brutal fashion. It would be the biggest miss match in boxing history.

That's what you aren't taking into account, who Carnera (or any of the fighters you are referring to) is looking good against.

Many amateurs and non fighters can look deceptively good.
Like those soccer freestylers who'd get crushed on the actual pitch.
So you have to take into account more than how easy it is to replicate.

What is a good alternative to 10 second clips to illustrate a point?
Easy to criticize my methods of actually using footage to back up a point when you haven't done so. It's meant as a convenience to the viewer, making the point of interest instantly accessible, and isolating it for better analyzation.

What a lame cop out. As if Rocky is a sleeping oaf, that lights up every 30 seconds, and I'm just cutting out those few seconds of brilliance, while leaving out the lumbering oaf. lol, no.

You're always free to literally use the same fight film, and cut out a larger portion if you want. Or a different section of a fight, or even post the entire fight. There's equal opportunity here, but I can't promise equal outcome.

Under classic conditions it is a fair fight. Remember those guys Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis?

Dempsey had both foot and hand speed over Marciano and was more elusive. As well as being a great puncher Louis was an excellent boxer with a great jab. Marciano was not in their class for technique.

Rocky certainty had a different technique but he certainly was no less effective.

Rocky never fought any contenders who were 6'5 and 6'6, Dempsey did.
Dempsey had much longer arms and was faster coming forward on his feet.
You can't simply give Marciano the ability to do what Dempsey could do when the differences are so obvious and important.
(Furthermore, the best version Dempsey sure would have his work cut out against Joshua anyway, and that's probably understating it.)

Marciano can match anything Dempsey did because both Rocky and Jack were both ATG exceptional fighters. They don't have to be identical to register identical results.

It seems perverse that Dempsey can be afforded a chance against Josha but not another great fighter of the same weight and an inch or so shorter. It's a strange logic.

Rule both out by all means. It's illogical to rule just one out and not the other.

No he can't, he is neither as quick of hand or foot as Dempsey ,as quick into range ,as accurate with his punches, does not have Dempsey's balance or head movement, and does not possess his array of short punches. Dempsey has a chance against most guys because of his speed and elusiveness, Marciano does not possess these qualities.
Dempsey was 3 inches taller than Marciano with 8 inches more reach.
Add to this Dempsey is proven against ranked superheavyweights and Marciano is not, and that Marciano was a bleeder and Dempsey was not.
You could say they both had black hair I suppose!

No, your reasoning is the illogical one.

    I've already explained.
Dempsey is taller (probably by 3 inches), showed faster feet moving forward, has visibly longer arms.
Also, he actually did beat a couple of high-rated fighters who were 6'5 and 6'6 and weighed 220, 245, and made short work of them. Guys who weren't as muscular or strong as AJ but had size and reach and significant bulk over Dempsey.
Therefore he affords himself the consideration of a chance against other men that tall or heavy and rangey.
He's brought along some sort of blueprint ticket to be considered for the job.

With Marciano, his physical/stylistic disadvantages are more severe and obvious than Dempsey's, and , more importantly, he never faced or beat a rated fighter of similar dimensions.
The biggest world ranked fighter Marciano beat was Joe Louis, who was just an inch taller than Dempsey (rather than close to AJ) and a modern cruiser in his prime.

You might as well say Harry Greb deserves to be given equal chance against AJ as would Dempsey (and, some would say, Dempsey's chance are slim to nil anyway).

Joe Louis was roughly the size of the George Foreman that fought Frazier when Marciano knocked him out. 218lb or so. Joe Louis claimed he could lift Carnera off the floor yet Rocky appeared physically stronger than the biggest version of Joe Louis. I'd say if you can knockout a rated guy that size then it's plenty enough.

Rocky knocked out 6'6", 6'4" guys who were lighter and he knocked out 240 heavy journeymen. We can argue about the quality of those opponents but I'm just demonstrating that the dimensions in themselves did not present difficulties for any great fighters.

It's as much about being good enough to do it rather than meeting the preferred criteria. Marciano, during his short peak, could match results that Louis and Dempsey recorded. I doubt many historians would back a single victim who lost to Louis or Dempsey to beat Marciano. Surely that must go for fantasy victims too?

And yet under classic conditions we don't even know how good Joshua is because he is as overdeveloped with modern training as one can get.

Joe Louis best weight was about 200lbs,he weighed 213.5lbs for Marciano.
Foreman is 6' 3.5"tall and his best weight was about 220/225lbs.

    Louis Foreman
    6'1.5" Height 6' 3.5"
    41" Chest 43"
    44" Expanded 45.5"
    14" Biceps 15.5"
    12.5" Forearm 14"

Foreman is significantly bigger than Louis was.
