Would it really? Pulev is completely unknown in the UK, the fight wouldn't be bigger than the Dillian Whyte fight and I think Joshua got £4million for that..I could be wrong. Well regardless, Hearn is saying that it was. So I expect Pulev to give up his mandatory position, he clearly doesn't want the fight.
The mainstream media are aggressively lavishing praise all over Joshua and some of them are already pushing him as Britain's most significant sportsman. I think that the general public will massively buy into this for as long as holds his 0 and keeps his nose clean. In this case, I'd expect he'd make £4M+ against anybody even some unknown American school janitor that might be brought over from some forsaken place like Pulaski, Tennessee.
I don't have a problem with it, AJ has a queue of top opponents now. Wk, pulev, fury, wilder. AJ has been out a lot over the years and I think him staying busy works just fine for him, more fights for us to enjoy and more money for him to make. What I don't want to see is AJ having stay busy fights or fight some unknown ibo mandatory.
I think Pulev is a good fighter and if they fought Pulev would pose Joshua problems but ultimately I can see Joshua mid rounds KO. Not a bad fight but would rather see AJ v Ortiz.
Pulev has performed poorly in his comeback, he's also tailor made for Joshua. Can't see him lasting more than 3 rounds.
I can't see what Pulev can do to beat him. He isn't a big puncher, so he doesn't have a punchers chance or has the power to keep AJ off him. He's a terrible mover so he can't outbox him off the back foot, his mummy guard will be wide open for AJ's hooks and uppercut, all he has is a jab and that isn't going to be enough. I think Joshua walks right through him 4-5 rounds at the most.
