Don't think you are wrong, I think selby can stop him too Anyhow, if he doesn't stop him he will beat him comfortably Different class
Tbf to quigg he was changing angles on the inside which is decent work. The lack of head movement will be sorted by roach, they just havnt had enough time together yet. I would say you need at least a year or 3 fights under a new trainer whichever comes first, before you see a real notable difference in any changes. Scott was with gallagher for all the succesful years and he will have faith in that style and strategy. That will be default until roach can build up scotts confidence to change things up. I reckon scott will do better under roach. The gallagher style is just a poor mans marlon starling, or winky wright. roach will iron out the whats wrong with scott quigg and impress a bit of the roach style in eventually. Scott is one fit guy and hes dedicated to his sport, i reckon within a year or so hell be so glad he left gallagher
Well i suppose what i should of said is the gallagher style is a poor mans turtle style, you know a form of defence, like philly shell or peek a boo. Turtle style defence was used by starling and wright . High gaurd plenty of head movement, close parrys, turn into the cross and hook. Drop down instead of bending at the waist, put ursrlf in the correct position to counter with the uppercut.
just a few guys who are around the boxing scene with paddy barnes etc, they had told me that this was his next fight, and a rumour around Belfast, it was the same with the Quigg fight, we heard where it was and date before it was announced. Im hoping its true too, great fight, big payday for valdez if true as LSC went back on his word and frampton will be taking this route to TRY get back on top.
Ive heard valdez might be moving up, i suppose a fight with frampton could sit well with this, if its true. Thanks. Yes, could add into the above. Philly coffin, short arm defence skull and bones, robbing the bank (tortoise shell), crossed arm. Theres quite a few defence styles if you care to study it.
Quigg seems to have regressed if anything...he has lost his jab, his defence (such as it was) and lost the power he had at 122. His body shots, which were often deadly at 122 had no effect whatsoever. I actually thought 126 would suit him, size wise, and he would fit in well at the bigger weight. I am shocked to be honest.
Quigg's an excellent fighter, just needs the right trainer or he'll be caught between styles and start losing to fellas he could beat imo
